00:00It had been when I was nine years old, there was a man that lived across the road. He had
00:04this
00:04boat that he used to work on. He was kind of someone who, you know, kids in the street were
00:09drawn to and he liked to chat with the kids that came around and he encouraged us to be
00:16in the yard and hang out. And the first one I remember was a day that I was in the
00:23yard where
00:24he was when he worked on his boat. He invited me to come onto the boat and I remember as
00:29I was
00:29getting up, feeling really special. It just had some cushions made for the cabin. So he wanted to
00:36show me. And I remember going in and him inviting me to lie down on the cushions to try them
00:42out.
00:42I remember looking at the roof and I remember wanting to get up and to say stop. And there
00:48was this kind of no, no. He put his hand on my shoulder. It's okay. I felt really powerless to
00:54do anything to stop him, to get out of that situation. The curious thing is that even as
01:00a child, as a nine-year-old, I still liked him.
