00:00That might be the coolest hat I've ever seen.
00:02Thank you, brother.
00:03Yeah, show it all.
00:07What's the inspo behind that?
00:08This is a Robert Rune couture.
00:11I don't know if you peeped the nails.
00:12I'm going to just bring it back there.
00:13I'm a co-producer on the show that's being celebrated tonight, Jellicle Ball.
00:16Cast at Jellicle Ball.
00:17Tonight for me was all about opulence.
00:19You own everything and everything is yours.
00:21Standing here on behalf of my ancestors, the mothers, the fathers, the queer community
00:25who have built and dreamed what liberation can look like.
00:28So I said, why not bring out the dramatics?
00:31So that's what this look represents tonight.
00:33It's a beautiful thing when you can think about what the generations before us did.
00:37What's your favorite part about your family lineage that you like to think about tonight?
00:40I think the thing about my family lineage, I come from people who are very strong and wise
00:45and unapologetically truthful in their walk, in their purpose.
00:50And I think watching that as a young black queer kid really informed how I want to choose to move
00:55in this world.
00:56And I also have to shout out just my chosen family.
00:58Moving to New York at 17 was not easy, but I met so many incredible people who spoke power into
01:04my life
01:04and value onto me so that I could see myself the way that they saw me.
01:08And that has truly changed the trajectory of how I move.
01:11I feel like history is happening like every day.
01:13We're really living in a lot of momentous times right now.
01:15You know, the Tonys being on CBS, what's happening at 60 Minutes, a lot of shifts in the media.
01:20How are you thinking about that when you're here tonight?
01:22I mean, I think I always make space for it all.
01:24You know, we can live in some tough, interesting, nuanced times, right?
01:30But I think what's important tonight is about celebrating these artists, these athletes who have worked so hard
01:35and will continue to work so hard.
01:36I think why I'm here, Cats the Jellicle Ball, a show that maybe wouldn't have worked 10 years ago the
01:42way that they reimagined it.
01:43But because of where we are in society and where we are as a community, where we are as New
01:47York, it works so seamlessly.
01:49So I think it's all about alignment, and I feel so aligned.
01:52You said athletes.
01:53Nick, Sephora, how are you feeling?
01:54You already know we are in New York.
01:55What's up?
01:57Are you going to be watching Game 3 tomorrow?
01:58Oh, you know Monday is going down.
02:00It's going down.
02:01I'm going to take this coat off, and we're going to get busy.
02:03I'm very, very excited.
02:03You just can't watch outside the stadium.
02:05You can't watch outside the stadium, but I do hope and I believe that the city is about to turn
02:09upside down.
02:11Yeah, let us see.
