00:00A pair of, well, some would call them daredevils, I would call them idiots, decided to climb to the
00:06tippy top of the Empire State Building for a cringy Instagram stunt. Authorities say 33-year-old
00:12Angela Nikolaou and her boyfriend, 32-year-old Ivan Kuznetsov, scaled the building's 1,454-foot
00:19antenna on Wednesday and unfurled a banner-promoting piece. They spent about 30 minutes
00:24hanging off the spire of New York's most iconic building. Now, as they made their way back down,
00:30the guy paused on a small platform at the bottom of the spire, still perilously high up, got down
00:35on one knee and proposed. And she said yes, and obviously snapped photos of the ring from the top
00:41of the building, which she later posted to Instagram. Clearly, this was all about peace.
00:45Police say the couple gained access to the spire after allegedly breaching a security gate on the
00:51102nd floor. Also, it was about 9,000 degrees yesterday, so that big metal pole had to feel like
00:56holding on to the gates of hell, but anything for the gram. They were taken into custody without
01:02incident when they were safely back on the ground. This type of dangerous law-breaking nonsense seems
01:07to be one of the couple's hobbies. They've previously posted photos from the tops of some
01:11of the world's tallest buildings and were featured in the 2024 Netflix documentary,
01:16Skywalkers, A Love Story. So congratulations to the happy couple.
01:20I guess not every proposal ends with an engagement ring and a court date.
