01:22from a few days ago okay i'm lucky i didn't like throw up or get some sort of like uh

01:30i'm good it was uh it was it was carne asada it was delicious the second time around so make

01:37mgm national harbor luckily very little traffic there was a little bit of a traffic stack up and i thought
01:43to myself well i've i've brought this upon myself i've completely like this is very avoidable if i
01:50just brought my gear with me right to work like i should have so i get boots on the ground
01:54at around
01:55one o'clock check in meet up with mike a little bit later in the afternoon because i had to
02:02take a nap
02:02you know i had to prepare myself properly for the evening so i knew it could potentially be a long
02:07night
02:08mike mar is there he had to do a zoom meeting he got a workout in so we we and
02:13he had his own room
02:14right he had his own room you guys didn't bro it up in the gym no because he he was
02:19there before me and
02:20he he got his workout in so it was fine not a problem pretty nice gym there it is it's

02:25nice gym and the best part about the gym is you always have it to yourself was there anybody in
02:30there
02:30mike more not a single soul yeah and it looked out where i was uh doing my cardio looked out

02:35pool the pool area and it looked very hot outside but it was awesome it was steaming hot outside and
02:40the people at the pool they were getting they were getting baked alive on on the pool deck so we

02:46our workouts get our naps in i saw harry kane blast one past the keeper i mean they were assaulting

02:52keeper throughout the game they were i mean at some point they were going to break you know and
02:55eventually they did yeah and england breaks through um we meet up at the bar at the bet mgm sports

03:01lounge some little pregame and then we get the first great news of the day we ordered two beers
03:09bartender comes over in his ballistic jersey says drafts are half price right now during the world
03:16cup games oh i said we're basically drinking for free two beers at a casino for nine bucks yeah like
03:25that's a steal that's a literal steal yeah so we we start drinking the beers and i was a little

03:32shocked at at the outset mike bar was kind of kind of sipping his first beer like i i was
03:38three quarters
03:39of the way done my first beer and mike bart barely touched this he was trying to stay focused two
03:44factors yeah yeah you're a professional drunk oh well and two that's i think he was being serious about
03:51his poker that could have been the case but also it's so early in the night that slow is smooth
03:55smooth is fast okay so i don't need to just come out the gates and salt and beers right off

04:00because you know we still have dinner and then obviously the the showcase would happen later in
04:04the night so this was around three o'clock no three or four probably like 15 we texted agreed to
04:09meet up
04:09at 415 at mgm 415 so then because beers are on sale of course i order a second round and
04:15then we make
04:16our way to voltaggio get another drink at the voltaggio bar with my buddy chris who was hanging
04:22out there and then we just had a delicious dinner at voltaggio yeah we were catching a buzz uh i
04:28was
04:28i was doing okay at that point three drinks in like right around dinner time i'd be catching a buzz
04:35yeah i paired a nice wagyu steak with an old-fashioned some steak fries butter rolls yeah i mean voltaggio
04:42they know what they're doing it was why you wednesday so we got a nice piece of wagyu beef
04:47and i believe an old-fashioned for like 95 bucks right it's a pretty good pairing pepper and cakes
04:53with some uh pre-game poker questions getting some good stories out of him from his run last summer
04:58in vegas yeah the main event um yeah you set me up pretty well yeah i gotta say so we
05:04did voltaggio
05:05make our way up to the poker room get into the field 715 start and we we do heaters before
05:13yeah
05:14we did a we did a heater before the tournament started which is a real sicko move when it's
05:20what 98 or 99 degrees outside just going and breathing in cancer right and then going into the poker room
05:28um so we were navigating our way through the tournament and of course 2026 is not the year
05:35of cakes in his own event like i i just can't i can't catch a break i expected that i
05:41can't catch fire
05:42i get knocked out probably i don't know through like the seventh level mike maher still in mike maher
05:50the poker neophyte made it past me he lasted longer than i did hmm now he he had some
05:57he had a few live poker struggles at first like with some of the you know the the formulaics of

06:05what to do when you know the action comes around to you but he he adapted to it did you

06:10cheat sheet by your side no he had but never i don't think he ever didn't look at it a

06:15which is wow which makes sense because when you're in the moment it's it's kind of hard to fumble into

06:24didn't reference it once it was tough when we started because when we were at voltaggio we were talking
06:27about you know playing slow off the rip and kind of just seeing the cards go and you know taking

06:32easy got dealt pocket kings second hand so i all in i get in a match with this guy ended

06:39oh so then i'm down to like i don't know maybe half my stack and clawed my way back bitch

08:10had to parlay with i had a parlay with balligan scoring and the u.s winning oh wow but that

08:16didn't pay a lot because those were two like massive favorites paired together i think the
08:20u.s was minus 600 i think i bet 10 and i won 21 and 52 cents so i'm i'm
08:26rolling in the money over
08:27here curious when you get back to your room did you have another beer uh i did not oh look

08:58year you've kind of gotten back into the heaters you know the common factor is mike it's mike and i'm
09:04not blaming him i'm a full of a fully formed adult i can make my own decisions but whenever i'm

09:11heaters mike bar is right there with me cigarettes are back well they're bad but they they might be
