00:00There's a sense that the Erdogan government is quite supportive of Hamas and quite sympathetic
00:06to the leadership in Gaza. Now, of course, many countries in the world are sympathetic to the
00:12Palestinians and specifically to the Gaza residents. But I believe that Erdogan and his
00:19government have gone beyond that. Turkey is the one that decided to cut financial and economic
00:24ties with Israel in recent years. And basically, most of those ties have ground to a halt.
00:31So I think that given the quite hawkish or belligerent stance of Turkey towards Israel,
00:39we've seen a series of moves that have been a continuous deterioration, culminating with the
00:45decision of our government this week to recognize the genocide of the Armenian people, which is
00:50something that's been pending or not happening for many, many years, because Israel didn't want to
00:55take that move. And so it's both statements on the rhetoric level, rhetorical level, as well as now
01:02for the first time, an actual policy decision.
