00:00Thanksgiving. Martha, should we make some bread? I don't dare put bread on the
00:04table, but I do put biscuits. Whenever I want to make biscuits, I am using the
00:08Martha Stewart OG entertaining book recipe. It's very easy to make. Martha's
00:14telling me to do six cups of flour, fourth cup of baking powder. Martha, what
00:17do these do? Baking powder causes the biscuits to rise and makes them light
00:21and flaky. One teaspoon of baking soda, which neutralizes all the acids. Fourth
00:25cup of sugar, teaspoons of salt, and just whisk that all together. You can cut all
00:31the butter in by hand. One cup, two sticks of unsalted cold butter. You want the
00:36butter and flour to be cut together and so it looks like they're pea sizes. And
00:40the buttermilk, we're going to add two cups. Fun fact, you can make your own
00:43buttermilk if you don't have any. How much did I mix this? You don't want to
00:46over mix. This is very important with all those great southern ladies who make
00:50their biscuits on their biscuit boards. Cut out your biscuits. You want nice
00:54straight-sided biscuits. Now these are also great. You can brush them with a
00:58little milk on the top and bake until it's lightly browned. That's a beautiful
01:03biscuit. Looks good to me. How does it look to you? It looks delicious, but it
01:06tastes even better.
