00:18but now has to wait another two weeks.
00:21The federal court deferred its decision on the prosecution's appeal against his acquittal to July 13,
00:28just two days after Johor goes to the polls.
00:31Syed Sadiq's lawyer, Hisham Teh Potek, described the postponement as unprecedented,
00:38saying the decision was ready but could not be delivered because one member of the quorum was unwell.
00:44The case began in 2021, when Syed Sadiq was charged with abetting criminal breach of trust,
00:50misappropriation and money laundering involving funds linked to Bersatu youth.
00:55The High Court convicted him and sentenced him to seven years jail,
01:00two strokes of the roten and a 10 million ringgit fine,
01:04but the Court of Appeal acquitted him in June last year.
01:08Johor goes to the polls on July 11,
01:10just two days before the Apex Court's new date to deliver its verdict,
