DRC opposition leader Sesanga banned from leaving the country

An opposition leader in the Democratic Republic of Congo said Monday he had been banned from leaving the country and stripped of his passport, condemning it as "intimidation" amid tensions with the government.

00:01One of the Democratic Republic of Congo's main opposition politicians has been barred from leaving the country.
00:08Delisa Sanger, a former minister who heads the EnVol party, had his passport confiscated on Sunday
00:14as he was attempting to take a flight at Kinshasa airport.
00:19According to the opposition politician, he was told that he had to take up his case with the judicial system,
00:25but that he had not been informed of any proceedings brought against him beforehand.
00:31Sanger is a key figure in the new coalition against the constitutional change
00:35that could see current president Felix Cisicetti reach for a third term.
00:42Sanger was also among several politicians injured during clashes on 12th of June.
00:48The clashes happened as the new coalition had called for demonstrations
00:51against what it referred to as a constitutional coup.
