00:00During his diplomatic visit to Iraq, Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Arakshi urged all parties
00:04not to interfere with the Strait of Hormuz management following an escalation in aggressions
00:10between the United States and the Persian nation in the past couple of days.
00:14During a news conference with the Iraqi counterpart in Baghdad, Abbas Arakshi stressed that the
00:19Memorandum of Understanding between Iran and the United States gives Tehran control of the waterway.
00:24Let's recall that the agreement establishes a 60-day period to resolve a Hormuz shipping dispute
00:31in negotiations that aim to clarify the status of shipping throughout the Strait.
00:36In the sense, Iran and Oman, along with the Gulf countries, are expected to hold talks
00:41to address the question of security for shipping.
00:53Under the Memorandum of Understanding, the Strait of Hormuz, under the management that
01:00will be undertaken by Iran, will return to its pre-war capacity within 30 days after the obstacles
01:09have been removed by the Islamic Republic of Iran.
01:14These arrangements are currently being adopted and are being implemented.
01:19And responsibility for these arrangements rests with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
01:27No other institution or country bears any responsibility in this regard under the Memorandum of Understanding
01:36signed between Iran and the United States.
01:41Any interference in this matter, any attempt to establish new or separate arrangements from
01:47those currently being carried out by the Islamic Republic of Iran, will only lead to further complications,
01:56delay the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, and increase the level of tension.
02:02Just as over the past two nights we witnessed incidents in the Strait of Hormuz that led to
02:08an increase in tension and confrontation, I call on all parties not to interfere in the
02:16matter of the management of the Strait of Hormuz, and in the arrangements being adopted by the
02:21Islamic Republic of Iran for the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, to abide by the signed
02:26Memorandum of Understanding.
02:29They should not allow this Memorandum of Understanding to be diverted from its intended course.
02:37In this context, Iranian Foreign Minister also stressed that the responsibility of assuring
02:42an end to hostilities in Lebanon lies with the United States government.
02:50Likewise, under Article 1 of the Memorandum of Understanding, the war on all fronts, including
02:58in Lebanon, must come to an end.
03:01We are, unfortunately, witnessing that the Zionist regime, Israel, has continued and continues
03:08its attacks.
03:10It is the responsibility of the United States government, in accordance with the commitment
03:16it accepted under the Memorandum of Understanding, on its own behalf and on behalf of the Zionist
03:22regime, to bring this regime's attacks to a halt, to allow the end of the war to be established
03:29there as well, and for a withdrawal from the occupied territories to take place, which is
03:35also one of the provisions of Article 1 of the Memorandum of Understanding.
