Wimbledon Queue: Everything you need to know
Transcript
00:00If you haven't managed to get tickets for Wimbledon, don't worry. There's still one way of
00:03getting in and it starts right here. It's 6.30 on Monday morning, the gates haven't even opened yet
00:08and thousands of tennis fans are already waking up in a field in southwest London.
00:13Welcome to day one of Wimbledon 2026 and more importantly, welcome to the queue.
00:18Wimbledon remains one of the only major sporting events in the world where you can buy premium
00:22tickets on the day. Here's how it works. Step one, grab your queue card. When you arrive at
00:27Wimbledon Park, you're given a queue card. It's numbered, dated and non-transferable. Hold on
00:31to it like your life depends on it. This is your physical proof of where you stand in line.
00:36Then when the gates open, tickets are sold on a first come first serve basis. Step two, get your
00:41tech ready. This isn't just an old school line anymore. You'll need to download the Wimbledon
00:46app and set up an account. And then when it's time to pay for your tickets, you'll need to show
00:50your
00:50My Wimbledon ID. Step three, know what you're playing for. Every day, there are around 500 tickets each
00:55for Centre Court, Court 1 and Court 2. Though keep in mind Centre Court and Court 2 tickets are only
01:00available for the first 10 days. Though if you miss out on our show court, don't panic. A grounds pass
01:05lets you watch the matches on the outside courts and soak up the atmosphere around the All England
01:10Lawn Tennis Club. If you do miss out on a morning ticket though, there's still another chance later in
01:14the day through Wimbledon's official ticket resale scheme. It's a virtual queue which you can join via
01:19the app after 3pm for returned show court seats and tickets are just £10 to £15. Our advice is to
01:24check the live queue status on Wimbledon.com before you travel down and note that ticket sales finish
01:29at 8pm. A few golden rules from the official 2026 guide. If you're camping overnight, you can't bring
01:35anything bigger than a two person tent. You can only leave your spot for 30 minutes at a time. And
01:39if the
01:40grounds hit capacity, it becomes a strict one in one out policy. So yes, you might need patience,
01:45an alarm set painfully early, and maybe even a tent. But for thousands of fans every year,
01:51queuing is still one of the best and cheapest ways to experience Wimbledon.
