‘I queued for Wimbledon tickets and got in!’

We head down to Wimbledon to queue for ground pass tickets costing just £30. See how we got on!

00:00Wimbledon is one of the most prestigious sporting events in the world, and Londoners can experience

00:05that every year by queuing up for ground tickets, so come with us as we head to the All Lawns

00:10Tennis Club and queue. It was an early start, leaving at 5.30am. The easiest way to get

00:16to the queuing grounds is by getting the train to Southfield Station, and then it's a race

00:21to the queue. First, we were guided to the back of a line and then given a card with

00:26our waitlist number. We got there at around 6.30am, but were still 6,100ish in line, with

00:34people at the front camping from 3pm the day before. The atmosphere is great even there,

00:40with people playing cards and food stalls everyone is excited to get in, and then after

00:45waiting 4 hours for the gates to open, we edged closer and got our tickets by around

00:52Tickets were £30 for ground passes, giving you access to court 3 to 18. You're greeted

00:58straight away by stalls and then over the road and into the ground with Centre Court

01:03beckoning. The first 500 people in the queue can get Centre Court, Court 1 or Court 2 tickets,

01:10but really for that you need to be camping overnight and prepared to pay a lot more.

01:16Once you're in, you can head to the resale section and put your name down for the big

01:21courts. As it gets towards the evening and seats become available, you can pay £15 to

01:26see the last few hours of tennis on either Centre Court, Court 1 or 2. For the rest of

01:31the day though, be prepared for more queuing to get in to see a game, but once you're

01:36in, at a court, settle down for some amazing grass court action. We saw Jess Pergola, world

01:42number 5 and Holger Rune, the Danish player, number 15 in the world. All the classics

01:47are there when you're in, from strawberries and cream to Pimms, it really is a special
