00:00How sustainable is what the Phillies have done in this turnaround with this torrid pace they're on?
00:04We were wondering the same thing, you know, when they were winning games 2-1, 3-2.
00:08We kept saying, how sustainable is this?
00:10They can't do this without offense. They can't do this without offense.
00:12And they went ahead and found a way to get some offense.
00:15So when you say how sustainable is it, well, it's been sustainable since April 27th or 28th through June 28th.
00:23So it's two months that they've played like this in one in different ways.
00:27So I trust the pitching, at least the starting pitching enough, that it's going to be good enough for them
00:33going forward.
00:34And I will tell you, and I don't know if this was one of the questions that you were going
00:37to ask,
00:37but I know everybody wants a bat. Everybody wants a bat.
00:39I think they'll add a bat of some kind. I don't think that's going to be the big acquisition.
00:43I think the big acquisition at the trade deadline is going to be another pitcher.
00:46And I think that they're just going to double down on what their strength is.
00:50If you go into the playoffs, let's play a game with me here for a second.
00:53You go into the playoffs, you obviously don't need all of your starting pitching in the postseason, right?
00:58But you pretty much need three guys.
01:01Yes, every once in a while you have that fourth spot come up.
01:03You pretty much need three.
01:04But we say, well, they already have three.
01:06Yeah, but they could use another lefty in the bullpen.
01:08If you're not going to go out and get a Roldy's Chapman, who's probably the best lefty that's going to
01:12be available,
01:13what if you go out and get another hammer of a starting pitcher and slide Lizardo into the pen?
01:17We saw him come out of the pen last year against the Dodgers.
01:20He pitched really well against the Dodgers in relief.
01:22What if you did that and Lizardo now becomes your number one lefty in the bullpen
01:28and you go out and get another big arm that can go out and be one of your starters?
01:32I think that's a realistic possibility and may be the way that the Phillies go.
