00:00You know, we got a preview of things in Las Vegas a couple weeks ago where there were runs aplenty.
00:06So how are you changing things when it comes to evaluating some of those players,
00:09at least from a long-term potential dynasty perspective?
00:12As someone that has shares of Soderstrom and Gage Jump and whomever it might be on the athletics,
00:17I'm excited about their offense, but I'm also worried about the downside for pitchers in Las Vegas.
00:23Yeah, no, completely.
00:24I actually, I was saying after the Vegas series, I was saying on Ras Ball that I want to acquire
00:31every single A's hitter that I can right now
00:34because, I mean, Vegas is going to play.
00:38Now, obviously, they're not going to play in a minor league stadium when they finally do get there,
00:42but it is going to be, I believe Vegas is at 2,000 feet elevation.
00:49So nearly, I mean, it's not quite a mile high like Coors, but it's going to play very hitter friendly.
00:56So as far as, like, all the A's players, hitters go, I would be acquiring A's hitters like crazy
01:02because they're going to be, they're all going to be good.
01:05Like, as you saw in the late 90s with the Rockies, like, before, you know,
01:10people really started, like, taking into account other factors, it's going to be,
01:15it's going to be an absolute hitter environment for quite a few years, I imagine,
01:21when they first get there.
01:23And as for, like, gauge jump, I, you know, I would probably be worried about the pitchers.
01:29I mean, just as excited for the hitters.
01:32I, yeah, jump, absolutely.
01:35Key word there is jump because I feel like gauge jump looks really good in road games right now.
01:46And that's where I would be playing him probably for the near future.
01:51You know, let's continue on this A's topic, but more of the first round in fantasy baseball topic
01:55because Nick Kurtz, you know, right now is not the favorite to win the MVP in the American League right
02:02now, Gray.
02:02But he is among the leaders because Witt has gotten hurt and, you know,
02:06certainly Aaron Judge has not played the majority of the season.
02:10Do you think that the first round in fantasy has delivered this year, maybe less or more than others?
02:18I know the month of April, everyone who drafted Nick Kurtz inside the top three or top four was like,
02:23oh my gosh, what a busted pick.
02:24And then all of a sudden he started going nuts in May and June.
02:27Oh, yeah, no, I, you know, I think this might be one of those years where I can't remember a
02:34year actually in the,
02:35in the, in the past where it's been so crazy where the top 10 is coming into the year versus
02:43right now.
02:44It's just completely different.
02:46You know, you had, um, you basically have every, uh, uh, top 10 player so far has been a bust
02:55except for,
02:56you know, not, not a bust necessarily, but like Jose Ramirez, for instance, like there's been injuries
03:01or everyone in the top 10 aside from Otani.
03:06It's like judge Ramirez imagine like back in March, people were like, oh, I can't wait to draft Fernando Tatis
03:14Jr.
03:14Like, oh God, he's, he's sitting on like three homers.
03:20So yeah, no, Nick Kurtz though.
03:22I'll say with him, I wouldn't be shocked if he's a perennial 450 on base percentage guy.
03:30Once we get, once we get the A's to Vegas, I, you know, I made a, uh, I, I said,
03:36you know,
03:36I can't make this bet that I know of, but I was saying that if there's a prediction market out
03:41there
03:42that makes a bet that says Nick Kurtz is a future hall of famer, I would put $5 on that
03:47right now
03:48because he's, if he stays with the A's and stays relatively healthy, I can't imagine him not reaching
03:54500 homers and seen on base percentage.
03:59Yeah.
04:00I mean, Nick Kurtz looks like a future hall of famer and we're 18 months into his career.
04:06I mean, it's not very long career and he's already looks amazing.
04:10So yeah, I mean, I, you know, unfortunately with fantasy, at least most leagues, uh, you know,
04:15it's five by five for most leagues.
04:17So he's not going to give you a ton of steals, but he's absolutely going to hit 45 homers
04:22and around 290 with, you know, the, the runs and the RBIs that come in that lineup.
04:30And they won't be that bad actually, because the lineup, because the park is, the home park
04:34is so good.
04:35The lineup's actually not that bad.
04:37So yeah, I, Nick Kurtz, I believe is probably a top five pick for next year as of right now.
04:44So he's, he's very close to basically without steals.
04:48He's, he's basically doing as good as he can do, uh, as far as fantasy goes.
