00:00All right guys, today we're putting the Wise Travel Money Card to the test and seeing exactly
00:05how far $100 can take you in Bali from food, transport, beaches, and even our Airbnb. We're
00:12going to be spending every dollar on camera, no tricks, no special tourist prices. Let's see what
00:18$100 can get us. Being a nomad is not a vacation. It's freedom, but it's also discipline. It's an
00:24exchange of security for enhanced experiences. It's a way of life.
01:20Okay, so before we jump into it, I just want to quickly mention that we've been using the
01:24Wise Travel Money Card exclusively for two years now. In every country we've traveled to, including
01:31Canada, America, Mexico, all over Southeast Asia, Thailand, Bali. This thing has come with us
01:37everywhere we've gone. And the reason for that is the rates are way better than what you get with
01:42traditional banks or travel money cards. There's no surprise international transaction fees that pop
01:47up out of the blue like with other cards. We're able to hold multiple currencies on just the one
01:52platform. And we're also able to receive and send payments all using the Wise Travel Money app. But
01:58honestly, one of the best features is probably the fact that we can freeze this card at any time
02:03whenever we want. If we leave our wallet or our bag down at the beach or something, and we're worried
02:09that somebody's going to hack into it, we can simply freeze it and unfreeze it. So it's honestly just
02:13become our biggest travel essential over the last couple of years, and we don't go anywhere without it.
02:25Okay, we are starting our day down at the beach here in Senor. We just ordered two coconuts and two
02:31smoothie bowls. Pretty much going to be spending a lot of our time in this video down on the beach
02:35here in Senor just because it's absolutely incredible. We just did a huge jog on the boardwalk. We did
02:39about six Ks and we didn't even see the end of the boardwalk. So you can come down here, you
02:43can jog,
02:44you can run, you can walk and work out for free. Oh, and our food just got here.
02:49So I tried my bowl and some bananas. Thank you so much. Thank you very much.
02:58So we've got two smoothie bowls for breakfast. The smoothie bowls were 52,000 IDR. I don't know how much
03:06the coconuts were, but I'll put them on when I find out. But yeah, you could come here and work
03:11out for
03:11free down here. There's also yoga. We ran past a huge yoga class on the beach. A lot of active
03:18people here first thing in the morning, which was really nice. But yeah, we tried to run to the end
03:22of the boardwalk and we couldn't even see the end. And we ran that far. So there are gyms and
03:26stuff
03:26here. We've seen some new gyms as well. But it's nice to have the option, especially here in Southeast
03:31Asia. We've noticed that it's like not a whole lot of sidewalks, especially for running with the pram.
03:37So we were actually able to do that here. I can see why a lot of families tend to migrate
03:42this way. And also just the prices here have been a lot lower than that of Canggu and everywhere
03:48else that we've been so far.
04:42And I don't see them. I don't see them there. And they're just gonna be gentle. And hopefully
04:47I can see them there. And if anybody is there are so far and they're too awfully know
04:48It's called Halo Wurrung, I googled it and it has 4.9 stars on Google reviews and it's
04:56probably the best local Indonesian food we've ever had yeah yeah 100% yeah this
05:04is our second time now coming back in two days in two days and you know I
05:09thought maybe might have just been like a luck or by chance thing the first time
05:14it's just as good the second time so I'm very happy so maybe you got gado gado
05:20chap chai chap chai okay I've got nasi champur which is just a bit of
05:26everything and then we've got chicken satay for Lila but also for us and the
05:33total for all three meals is about a hundred thousand rupiah which is like
05:41six bucks
06:44And so this is our Airbnb that we're staying in here in Senua.
06:48It's just like a couple of streets back from the beach.
06:52It's called Emi Senua and it's really affordable.
06:56It is about 40 US dollars per night.
07:00But we just found this on Airbnb.
07:02It had really good reviews.
07:03We booked it for five nights and yeah, the total came to less than 200 US dollars for five nights,
07:09which is really good.
07:10We were looking for something just really simple.
07:12All we wanted was something that had a kitchen that was close to the beach and a swimming pool.
07:18And it has all of that.
07:19It's got pretty much fully equipped kitchen.
07:21It's pretty small, but it's got everything you need.
07:25Like it's got a fridge here, just a small fridge, two burner cooktop, microwave, coffee machine, toaster, all the utensils,
07:36everything you need to cook.
07:42Like tea and coffee, tea and coffee, chopping board, everything.
07:45There's also heaps of storage here.
07:46So like this room separates.
07:54So if one of us is up early with Lila and we want to have breakfast to make some coffee
07:58or whatever, we can shut everything off and then you've got this really big living room, which is awesome because
08:09there's a place here to do yoga and stretch, big smart TV and a really comfy bed with, like I
08:16said, lots of storage.
08:17You've got all this here, all the hangers and then storage up there.
08:24And there's a workspace, which is awesome.
08:27So we can get some work done.
08:28A really comfy desk here.
08:34And I like this.
08:35This is like a nice garden out the back here that you can see.
08:41Like it's not just all concrete.
08:43It actually looks really nice.
08:44So we keep these blinds open and it's really good.
08:47Like honestly, we could spend a couple of weeks here if we wanted to, but we're only here for five
08:52nights.
08:52There's a little outdoor balcony.
08:54You can hang your clothes and stuff up.
09:00And it's just a shared pool out there, which is fine.
09:04So it's kind of like a guest house, but it's really quiet.
09:07And as I said, really affordable.
09:10Like if you want to come and stay somewhere that's actually pretty nice, but on a budget, we recommend this
09:15place.
09:15We'll leave the link down below in the description.
09:17All right, we're just having some lunch at what was our favorite restaurant when we came to Sunua three years
09:22ago.
09:23It's called Baby Monkey.
09:24It's a warong.
09:25And it was the first time we tried this dish called Mikua.
09:29And we were here like every single day when we were in Sunua because it was really cheap.
09:35Like I think it was about 40,000 for this dish.
09:40And like drinks are cheap.
09:41Everything's really cheap.
09:43And really good food, really good ambience, good music.
09:46So we're going back to give it a try, but it is cash only.
09:51So I've got to go to the ATM and get some cash out.
10:06Of course, it starts raining as soon as I walk.
10:10Might have to get a grab.
10:11So when you're traveling overseas, ATMs are honestly where most people get hit with the sneaky fees, not just the
10:18ATM fee.
10:19The hidden exchange rate markups, your bank ads on top.
10:22That's one of the big reasons we switched to Wise.
10:25So Wise always uses the real mid-market exchange rate, which is the same one that you see on Google.
10:30And they show every fee up front in the app before you withdraw.
10:35So nothing is hidden.
10:36When the ATM tries to do that thing where it converts the money for you, that's called dynamic currency conversion.
10:42So you can just go ahead and decline that and let Wise handle the exchange rate instead.
10:47So you end up saving a lot of money doing it that way.
11:03Thanks for the time.
11:10What?
11:30If you've been to Sinua you have to try this ice cream, I don't know what it is, there's
11:34a line around the corner, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and it's 20,000 rupiah for 2
11:43scoops
11:44and the ice cream is delicious.
11:46I've got one sugar cup and one baby cup.
12:13What flavor did you get?
12:15Snickers and cookies.
12:22I got Oreo and Snickers and it's unreal.
12:27So cheap, so good.
12:40Thank you very much.
13:09Alright, we've just got to grab out to the Flamingo Beach.
13:13We saw this on Instagram.
13:16Apparently they have deer here that you can feed for some reason.
13:20But anyway, it's about a 20 minute drive from where we're staying in Sinua.
13:24The grab cost 100,000 rupiah and we're going to just come and have some lunch here and spend
13:34the afternoon to finish off our trip because the weather's good.
13:37And we checked out of our Airbnb.
13:39Pretty much just needed to kill a couple of hours before we go to our next destination.
13:44So, this place looks really cool.
13:46Look at the deer.
13:48Where?
13:48Oh, there is deer here.
13:51Cool.
13:56Lila's having a nap so we'll have to come back and feed the deer on the way out, I think.
14:01How random, eh?
14:03Yeah.
14:04How random, eh?
14:33Can I ask you?
14:33I don't want no troubles, feeling is so right
14:38Been dreaming of this moment, since I've been alive
14:42Promise I remember, do you even realize?
14:50Giving all of you, thinking we can make this right
14:57There's nothing I can do
15:02Feels like, I can be my soul with you
15:24Does she love it?
15:26Yeah
15:27She loves being around other kids, there's so many kids here having the best time
15:32Like, I can't think of a better place to bring them on holiday
15:43Well that was fun, highly recommend coming and checking out the Flamingo Beach Club
15:47Unfortunately we didn't get to feed the baby deer, because that starts at about, did they say three?
15:52I think three or four or something, a little later on in the day
15:55But we're gonna go, we're gonna get to Pereranon, we've got an airbnb to check into
16:00As you can see, from the last 24 hours, $100 goes very far in Bali
16:08Especially if you get out of the more touristy spots like Kuta, Seminyak, Legian, even Canggu
16:14Your money can go very, very far still
16:17So, highly recommend coming and checking out some of the more quiet areas of Bali
