“Most Americans are not fans of AI.”

At Fortune Brainstorm Tech, AOL cofounder Steve Case said growing public skepticism is making AI an increasingly important political issue, noting boos from graduation crowds at commencement speeches and protests against data centers.

“An argument from Silicon Valley saying, ‘Trust us, it's all going to be fine,’ I don't think is going to resonate,” he said.
