00:07Look, I mean, I will say what I've always said, which is that AI has incredible benefits.
00:13I've talked about the medical benefits of the technology.
00:16As the president has said, you know, whoever wins AI wins.
00:20I think that's very important.
00:21But I think the technology has very real risks.
00:24And, you know, the mechanism, how we address those risks is still under discussion.
00:29But we all need to work together to make sure that we can win and we can win safely.
00:35If we do this right, we work with the president and everyone here, we can win safely.

01:03Mark, do you want to discuss what you've learned?
01:06Sure. I mean, I can kind of summarize what I think we all signed today,
01:10which is the White House accord on developing this technology safely.
01:16The basic idea is that we want to give the American people and our customers confidence that the technology works
01:25in the way that we intend.
01:26Right. So every company is building something that's a little bit different.
01:29You know, having one set of standards for what is what everyone should want to build.
01:35People want to do some different things, but I think what we can all agree on is that the American
01:40public and our customers want to know that what we're building is working in the way that we all intend.
01:44So we drafted a set of principles and commitments around building robust internal controls and detecting if there are any
01:53issues with the technology,
01:54coupled with multiple layers of auditing and controls, starting with internal risk review, external auditors and evaluators,
02:04and agreeing that we're going to have all of our boards of directors independently review the reports that come from
02:10the auditors.
02:11I think that these are good steps forward. The idea isn't that this is the only thing that we will
02:15ever do.
02:16It is that this is a start and an accord that the whole industry could come to.
02:20And I was very proud to have that discussion with a number of our colleagues, who I think are running
02:27great companies.
02:28You know, it was sort of a historic conversation. I don't think anything like this has come before.
02:34And I think this is a meaningful step forward. So, thank you.
02:37The President is very important. Safe. We want it all to be safe. It's tremendous good. We want it to
02:44be safe.
02:44And they're going to be watching over each other.

03:14Well, first of all, I'm really proud to be here today as an industry.
03:18I think this moment is historic and consequential.
03:21And I think there are extraordinary benefits to the technology you can see in the GDP growth we see.
03:26We have to make sure we are addressing the risks.
03:29And the President has asked the present industry to step up.
03:33And we want to make sure we are putting our products safely.
03:36And as Mark said, we are signing up to a set of processes and controls like we do in other
03:42areas like financial control in a company.
03:44And we are bringing those well-known best practices to the development of the privilege.
03:50Why does the public press, Mr. President, you can ask me, Mr. President?
03:52Because you know why?
03:53Because they're outstanding people and they don't want anybody, they don't want anything to go wrong.
03:57I mean, their companies are at stake.
04:00If something goes wrong, their companies are at stake.
04:03They're not going to let that happen.
04:04This is going to be all for the good and we're going to have it be nice and safe.
04:08And they're really going to be policing each other.
04:10And that's the way it works.
04:11Mr. President, if you have information that National Security is at a risk with this technology,
04:19we will support them and throw down the technology.
