Şerif Gören’in yönetmenliğinde çekilen film, kan davası, kaçış, aşk, yalnızlık, geçmişten kurtulamama ve yeni bir hayata tutunma çabası üzerine kurulu duygusal bir hikâye sunar. Başrollerinde İbrahim Tatlıses, Yaprak Özdemiroğlu ve Yaman Okay’ın yer aldığı yapım, 1980’li yılların güçlü melodram atmosferini daha gerçekçi ve sade bir anlatımla birleştirir.  Filmin merkezinde Alişan adlı bir adam vardır. Alişan, geçmişinde yaşadığı ağır olayların izlerini taşıyan, cezaevinden çıktıktan sonra hayatını yeniden kurmaya çalışan bir karakterdir. Ancak özgürlüğüne kavuşması, onun için tam anlamıyla yeni bir başlangıç anlamına gelmez. Çünkü geçmişindeki kan davası hâlâ peşindedir ve bu yüzden memleketine dönmesi mümkün değildir.  Alişan’ın yolu, dostu Müslüm ile kesişir. İkili, geçmişin gölgesinden uzaklaşmak ve geçimlerini sağlamak için Marmaris’te bir inşaat işinde çalışmaya başlar. Deniz, emek, yalnızlık ve kaçış duygusu filmin atmosferini belirleyen önemli unsurlardır. Marmaris, Alişan için hem saklanabileceği bir yer hem de kaderinin yeniden değişeceği bir mekân hâline gelir.
