Met Office meteorologist Jonathan Vautrey has warned that temperatures are expected to climb throughout the week, with an amber extreme heat warning already in force for Monday and Tuesday. He said temperatures could reach the mid-30s and cautioned that further spells of extreme heat later in the week remain possible.

00:17could well see another pulse of hot air coming up from the continent during the second half of next
00:22week um so it is worth staying vigilant right throughout the week and staying up to date with
00:26the forecast uh for any warning updates and changes because we could well see some further
00:31extreme heat warnings later on down the line if those models do come off and we see another potential
00:35for um again potentially mid 30s towards the end of the week
