00:00What was parade date like as a, as a Patriot, as a champion?
00:03It was, it was the first one was intense. It was crazy. It was,
00:07I felt a rush I've never felt because we went out at the city hall Plaza,
00:10I believe. So we all congregated there with the buses went there and the seat,
00:14the crowd just looking out was, Ooh, man. You know, I've, I've,
00:17I've gotten like kind of chills and like an adrenaline rush a couple of times.
00:24Like I've never gotten before, but I compared to when I did the,
00:28remember what the river wave that used to be down at the stadium and I was up
00:31on stage and I was with Bledsoe and Adam and we were, we were basically,
00:35they had us modeling our new jerseys and it was just a sea of people.
00:39And I'm up on that big stage.
00:411.25 million estimated for that one.
00:43And it was, I was like, Holy cow. I guess my heart started raising.
00:46It was a rush. Like you didn't, nothing I've ever, I've ever experienced.
00:49It was,
00:50it was incredible that people drove out there and just cramped themselves into
00:54that little space to watch us was, I don't know. I can't even tell you.
00:58You're going down the streets and you look down the side streets and they're
01:01like 20 rows back of people. Yeah. Yeah. It's crazy. And then, you know,
01:04you look up at the buildings and you know, you'd see things that were just,
01:07wow, that was great that I just saw that, you know, just, you just saw things,
01:12you know, who was next to you? I was, I went on Brady's boat.
01:16Yeah. You were on Brady's boat. Yeah. I went on Brady's boat.
01:18Brady guy. Yeah. He got, he got a nice shot of some nice, you know,
01:23up against the window. Right. So that's, that's the bus you want to be on.
01:26Who was, who was with Brady at that time? Did he,
01:28did he bring anybody on the boat with him or did he not?
01:30I don't think at the first time, I don't think he had anybody. Yeah.
01:33Tara Reid wasn't on there. Bridget Monahan wasn't on there. Yeah.
01:36It would have been, I think maybe more fun if, if Tara was, but yeah,
01:39but it's, it's, it's,
01:41it's an adrenaline rush that you can't even imagine that you get such to see
01:44how many people came out to see you. It's, it's a trip, man.
01:48What is the, the time between winning and like those three days or however long
01:54it was like the three to four days between when you've won and when you're on
01:57that boat, what is it like?
01:59You just, every day is a party. I mean, you don't really sleep much, but it's,
02:03it's just, you're with family and friends and you just kind of talk about the
02:06season. You, I don't know.
02:08Oh yeah. Did your family come up? Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Not for the parade.
02:11Not for the parade. Yeah. Not for the parade, but it just, you know,
02:13after the game, that kind of thing.
02:15But what do you remember? Like what parties did you go to?
02:17Like, do you remember there being a certain group of,
02:19or a certain restaurant or club that you guys took over or anything like that?
02:22No, no, no, no, no, no. I don't, I don't remember that.
02:25This wasn't like the Bruins when they went down to Mohegan Sun and had that
02:28epic bar tab that went viral.
02:32Our party was right after the Superbowl.
02:34So once we landed here, did the parade, guys would see, I'm gone.
02:37Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But our, our,
02:40our big blow it out together party was, was post Superbowl.
02:44Yeah. You know, Snoop Dogg was there. I'm sorry. I mean,
02:47he was at all of them, which is great. That's a given. I mean, that's the,
02:50that was, that's the party. Yeah. That's the party.
02:53And I got,
02:53I got a picture of where I'm toasting with my buddies after every Superbowl,
02:58when the sun's coming up, I didn't go to sleep at any of the Superbowls.
03:02And I got a great picture with, with Snoop Dogg, but I mean,
03:04you look out on the balcony, I'll just never forget.
03:06I'm looking out at the,
03:07my room at Jacksonville was my last Superbowl there.
03:10We beat the Eagles and I see Ty down there on the lower balcony.
03:14He's out and we're all toasting with the sun's coming up. Yeah.
03:17It's awesome, man.
03:18What's that crash like?
03:19Like when you're like,
03:20when it's all done and the parade's over with,
03:22and you've also went through an entire post season of NFL football,
03:27the stress leading up to the Superbowl.
03:29What is it like when the circus has finally left town and you're on your own?
03:33It's a, it's, it's a, it's a great feeling.
03:35It's like,
03:36I'd probably compare it to like how my guy Andy Dufresne felt when he was
03:41sitting down on the, on the roof, when they were tarring the roof and he got
03:44like a free man.
03:45He just went to, you know, the, you know,
03:46the cat that ate the canary look and he just like, I'm a world champ, man.
03:50You know, you can't, you can't take that away.
03:52I've been, I've been with in rooms.
03:55I was, I used to train with a bunch of guys down there in Houston that were
03:58played on different NFL teams, very established, big, big time players.
04:03Yeah.
04:04Accomplished players.
04:05And they all wanted to see my ring.
04:07And that's, it hits you hard.
04:08Like this is guys want this.
04:10They want to provide for their families.
04:12They want to make money.
04:13They want to have their own good career,
04:14but they really want to ring.
04:15And most guys don't ever come close to getting one.
04:18Think about like Marino, Randy Moss, Barry Sanders.
04:20How crazy is that?
04:21Have you ever like thought about you've got something that Dan Marino never got?
04:25Yeah.
04:26I mean, yeah.
04:27Now, you know, you say it like that.
04:28That's kind of cool, but you're right.
04:30It's a, it was, I'm very, very lucky to not only get one.
04:33And I thought I'd only get, you know, that one.
04:35Yeah.
04:35Yeah.
04:36Shoot, man.
04:37To get two more was, is, is on the way.
04:39Who is the most, I don't want to say out of control,
04:41but who is the, um, uh, the biggest partier?
04:45Ty.
04:46Ty.
04:47That isn't stopped.
04:48Yeah.
04:48Ty's, Ty's the guy that goes, he goes and he goes and he doesn't stop, man.
04:52He's, he is a, I mean, I used to show up for like Wednesday morning meetings and Ty's
04:58like the limo pulls up and he's getting out of the, and you see the sleeping bag in the,
05:02in the limo.
05:03The limo pulls up with a sleeping bag.
05:04Dude, but then he'd go run stadium stairs before practice.
05:08He was an animal man.
05:09Ty was probably our biggest partier.
05:10Well, I just, I remember like thinking back to some of these parades.
05:13I remember Garnett being like, like right before they went on the boat, uh, on the duck
05:18boats, there was an interview that they did.
05:20I think it was on NBC sports Boston and like Gorman might've been there too.
05:23And they're like, wow, you've, you've, you've been, uh, having a good time.
05:26And I just remember Garnett like had these dark glasses.
05:28I was like, 48 hours of running, man.
05:31And then there was Marchand, which what was crazy is they don't do this anymore is they
05:36don't have it.
05:37And I don't even know if the Knicks did anything like this from what I've seen, but you know,
05:40they, they used to have it like where you would go to in the Bruins, uh, for you guys,
05:45it was government center, I believe.
05:46And for the Bruins, it was right by the TD garden where they would get up on a stage and
05:51they would speak to the crowd first and then they would get on the duck boats.
05:54And you remember when they turned the mic over to Brad Marchand, Brett, nobody partied
05:58harder than Brad Marchand.
05:59Nobody did.
06:00Stiz, do you ever have that clip?
06:17Everything we do, we do it big.
06:21Thank you, Boston.
06:22It was so great.
06:24I've never heard that before.
06:25Oh, it's great.
06:26I love him now.
06:27It was so great about Marchand is that, I mean, remember like, you know, but at the
06:30beginning of that season, like he wasn't really anything like nobody really knew much about
06:33Brad Marchand and all of a sudden he's the Stanley cup winner.
06:36And I, this, as the story goes, as the rumor goes from people that I have spoken with and
06:41insiders is that, is that Brad, and there's pictures to prove a lot of this.
06:46He partied harder, like harder than anybody else.
06:48It was him and Sagan were all over the city when they plowed their way through everywhere.
06:52And just, and there was a point where from what I had been told is that it got so crazy.
06:58Everyone else had gone home.
07:00Like all of the other Stanley cup, like, you know, champions like Andrew Ferentz and Seidenberg,
07:05they'd all gone home.
07:06But Brad was still like all over the place, ping ponging around to where there is a story.
07:12And I don't know if it's true that at one point, Peter Cirelli called him into his office
07:16and said, Brad, it's time to go home.
07:19Time to get some sleep.
07:20It's time to finally get some sleep and go home.
07:22But yeah, so that's why when I see these parades, even though it's the Knicks and, you know,
07:25kind of F the Knicks, although I like the team, I just don't like everything around them.
07:29That stuff always, cause that's pure.
07:31Like I, it makes me think of like the Bruins parade and how huge and crazy that was or the,
07:36or the Patriots parades where it was like, it truly felt special.
07:39Oh yeah.
07:40You know, we didn't need the, I believe I heard they got 10,000 police officers.
07:44It's the most police officers that have ever been at like one gathering or something like
07:50that.
07:50It was like the most that New York city has ever put together for one event.
07:5310,000 cops.
07:5510,000 cops.
07:55Well, you know, it's New York city.
07:57And I, and I, and I know that I think the record is the record still the Bruins parade for
08:01the most people have shown up.
08:02Cause that was 2 million.
08:03Cause it was, it was a Saturday in the summer.
08:044 Red Sox or 3.
08:06Oh, was that 3?
08:07I think so.
08:08Okay.
08:08Then that might be right.
