00:00A heroic Indiana mother was killed when she stepped between her son and a gunman during a
00:03Facebook marketplace sale gone terribly wrong. 40-year-old Jean Gregg and her teenage son were
00:09selling a watch to a prospective buyer, 18-year-old John Ford. On June 10th, they'd arranged a meetup
00:14on the front porch of their home in Edison Park that's not far from the University of Notre Dame.
00:18Family friends said the teen was no stranger to selling things on Facebook, but this time,
00:22when Ford was looking at the watch before buying it, he allegedly pulled out a handgun.
00:26That's when Gregg physically put her body between Ford and her son. She then pushed an armed man who
00:33was pointing a gun at her off her property. Tragically, as she turned to walk back toward
00:38her home, the shooter opened fire, striking her in the head. Nearby security cameras captured Gregg
00:43falling to the ground as the assailant ran away. Now, authorities tracked the suspect down to an
00:48apartment complex two miles from the scene, and during an interview with police, Ford allegedly
00:52admitted to shooting Gregg. He's been charged with murder, attempted murder, and robbery.
