00:18Mohamed Issa said the incident occurred at about 12.30 a.m. on June 6 and involved a 26-year
00:26-old local man.
00:27Initial investigations found that the driver is believed to have lost control of the vehicle
00:32after the front right and rear left tires burst, causing the SUV to skid and crash into a road divider.
00:39The crash damaged the front section of the vehicle, including the bumper, bonnet, headlights, fender, rims and tires.
00:47No injuries were reported.
00:49At about 1.15 a.m. on the same day, a Central District Police Mobile Patrol vehicle team
00:55spotted the SUV being driven in a suspicious and dangerous manner along Jalan Kepong during a crime prevention patrol.
01:03The vehicle was later stopped in front of a premises in Jalan Bharat, Jinjang Utara.
01:09Checks found that the driver had no prior criminal record and tested negative for drugs.
01:14The vehicle has since been seized for further investigation.
01:18Police confirmed that the viral video was linked to the same crash,
01:21and a police report was lodged on June 8 after the vehicle was impounded.
01:26The case is being investigated under Rule 10 of the Road Traffic Rules 1959
01:30for failing to maintain proper control of a vehicle, resulting in an accident.
