00:03have hailed deepening strategic ties during talks in Beijing.
00:07Putin said bilateral relations have reached an unprecedented level,
00:12adding that Moscow is ready to expand energy supplies to Beijing.
00:19Xi welcomed Putin at the Great Hall of the People
00:22days after extending a similar state welcome to U.S. President Donald Trump.
00:26The two leaders oversaw the signing of 20 cooperation agreements,
00:30with around 20 more expected, covering trade, technology, scientific research and energy.
00:36Xi said he and Putin discussed a range of major issues,
00:40including Iran reiterating the need for an urgent end to the conflict.
00:44The talks also come as Russia and China continue discussions
00:47over the power of Siberia 2 gas pipeline,
00:50a project expected to send 50 billion cubic meters of gas to China each year through Mongolia.
00:56While Putin did not publicly mention the pipeline,
00:59the Kremlin said a general understanding had been reached,
01:02though key details and a timeline still need to be agreed on.
01:05Moscow and Beijing also criticized U.S. missile defense plans
01:09and accused Washington of failing to replace the expired nuclear arms treaty.
