00:00It's Benzinga, bringing Wall Street to Main Street.
00:02Senator Ted Cruz backed the Take It Down Act, legislation that would make it a federal crime
00:07to knowingly publish or threaten to publish non-consensual intimate images,
00:12including AI-generated content, according to Cruz's post on X.
00:16The bill would also require online platforms to remove flagged content within 48 hours of
00:21being reported. Paris Hilton separately joined lawmakers at the U.S. Capitol to support the
00:27Defiance Act, which would allow victims of non-consensual explicit AI-generated images
00:31to sue creators or distributors. Hilton referenced her own experience with such content and called
00:36it abuse. YouTube launched a pilot program allowing public officials and journalists to detect and
00:42request the removal of AI-generated deepfake videos using their likeness. The program continues to
00:48permit protected expressions such as parody. For all things money, visit Benzinga.com.
