Japan undecided on sending military forces to the Strait of Hormuz

During her closing G7 press conference, Japan's Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi once again 'welcomed' the 'agreement reached between the United States and Iran,' calling it a 'major step forward.' However, she made a point to confirm that 'no concrete decision has been made at this stage' regarding the deployment of Self-Defense Forces to the Strait of Hormuz, recalling that the joint statement issued with European countries specified that any action would 'remain within the limits of what the Japanese Constitution allows.'
