00:10Foreign Minister Penny Wong says the previous Do Not Travel warnings have now been downgraded,
00:15allowing travellers to transit through major Gulf aviation hubs with insurance coverage.
00:21The move follows the interim deal between the US and Iran aimed at ending the conflict in the Middle East.
00:27However, Wong cautioned that security conditions remained unpredictable and could deteriorate quickly.
00:33The easing of restrictions is expected to support Gulf Airlines and regional travel hubs.
00:38Before the conflict began in late February,
00:41Gulf carriers handled more than half of passenger traffic between Europe and Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific.
00:47But air travel had been disrupted in recent months due to missile and drone attacks,
00:52as well as insurance and route restrictions.
