00:00Elon Musk's artificial intelligence platform Grok is being used in U.S. military operations against Iran,
00:06according to a legal briefing submitted by the U.S. government.
00:10The Pentagon's AI chief, Cameron Stanley, says Grok has been integrated into Project Maven,
00:16a military program that uses artificial intelligence to help identify and process targets.
00:23Project Maven was initially powered by Anthropik's cloud model,
00:27before Grok was later added to the system.
00:30Stanley said Maven's smart systems enabled U.S. forces to carry out rapid large-scale operations
00:36involving thousands of targets in a short time frame.
00:39The Pentagon later ended its contract with Anthropik,
00:43after the company refused to allow its technology to be used for fully automated strikes or broad surveillance.
00:49It has since turned to other AI providers, including Google, OpenAI and xAI.
00:55The move has sparked debate inside the technology sector,
00:59with some employees expressing concerns over the use of AI in military operations.
