00:09Chief of Police James L. Beavers called Attorney Carl Hutchison over the telephone Thursday morning
00:14and asked if the list of protected disorderly houses, which Mr. Hutchison promised in a card several days ago, was
00:21ready.
00:22Mr. Hutchison is said to have replied that the list is not yet ready
00:25and that he will telephone the police official when it is completed.
00:29Chief Beavers, in the telephone conversation, is said to have reminded Mr. Hutchison
00:33that Thursday is the third day since the publication of Mr. Hutchison's card,
00:39stating that the list could be furnished in three days.
00:42Chief Beavers is said to have declared in the telephone conversation
00:45that he had hoped to receive the list of disorderly houses in his morning mail
00:49and was very much disappointed in not finding it.
00:52The chief told Mr. Hutchison that if the latter had the list in his office that he, Beavers,
00:58would be glad to send a call officer for it, as he is very anxious to get the information.
01:03Mr. Hutchison told the police official it is said that he would telephone him when the list is complete.
01:08In the course of the conversation, Chief Beavers said that he wanted the list in tangible shape,
01:13names of persons operating the houses, street numbers, etc.,
01:17and he asked Mr. Hutchison to sign the list.
01:20Mr. Hutchison answered that he didn't propose to have anyone dictate to him
01:24as to how or when he should get up the list,
01:27and that he intended to use his own judgment in making it up and submitting it.
