00:00Hi guys, I am looking to come to your house and renovate a space for free.
00:05No.
00:10Everyone has that one space that really needs work, but they have no time, no money,
00:16and no idea where to start.
00:18And that's where I come in.
00:20Attention shoppers.
00:21What if I told you I could come home with you today?
00:24Oh, not like that.
00:26So here's the catch.
00:27Three days to complete this renovation.
00:30You have to move out today and you're going to have no say in the design.
00:34I have a control problem.
00:36This is a real-time room renovation.
00:39We're going to change somebody's life in 72 hours.
00:44This is so amazing.
00:49Oh.
00:50Oh my God.
00:51I'm not leaving here today until I find the perfect person
00:56Can I hug you?
00:57Yes.
00:58You can.
00:59Wish me luck.
01:12I don't even know where to begin.
01:17Hi guys.
01:18Hi.
01:19Hello.
01:20How are you?
01:20Good, how are you?
01:21How are you doing?
01:23Don't mind my friends here.
01:25Are you guys here for kitchen stuff or?
01:28We're kind of just looking around.
01:29It's one of our favorite tours.
01:29Yeah, just seeing what's...
01:30So no particular space in your house you're renovating?
01:34Not really.
01:35No.
01:35Crap.
01:36I thought I had them.
01:40I am here today to give away a free makeover to any space in your house.
01:47My husband's a builder.
01:48Your husband's a builder.
01:50You can't win.
01:52I am looking for people to renovate a space in their house.
01:57That would be a hard no for me.
01:59Hi.
02:02Hi.
02:03How's it going?
02:04Good.
02:06Just a few cameras here with me.
02:09Yeah, just a couple.
02:10Thank you.
02:10I'm here today because I'm looking for somebody with a space that needs a complete makeover.
02:17We do have a space but my wife doesn't let anybody in there and I'm a little hesitant too because
02:22some of my upgrade skills aren't the greatest.
02:26So here's the catch.
02:28We have three days.
02:30You have no say in any of the design and I need you guys to move out today.
02:37That's going to be tough for you because you like to have say.
02:40I like a lot of say.
02:41Tell me a little bit about the house, the space.
02:44We have our primary bedroom, our bathroom.
02:46Uh-huh.
02:47And it's just kind of a big mess.
02:49I wanted a new tub and so he was like, oh, I'll take the tub out and replace it.
02:53Which he did but it's on like six by 12 blocks like you'd have your 57 Chevy in the backyard.
02:59But the worst part about the bathroom.
03:01In between the bathroom and the bedroom there's no door.
03:05So like in the middle of the night I have to get up and go in there and I'm be
03:09making man noises.
03:11You guys definitely need help.
03:13Tell me a little bit about yourselves.
03:15We have five kids from 17 to 3.
03:18Five kids.
03:19Yeah.
03:20Wow.
03:20That's another problem with no door on the bathroom.
03:23The kids come blowing in our bedroom looking for a phone charger and it's like,
03:26Hey, hello.
03:27I'm busy.
03:28Doing something in here.
03:29Would you guys be willing to move out of your house for three days?
03:33Sure.
03:34It's going to be tough.
03:36We have a farm.
03:37We have a farm.
03:38We've got a lot of animals.
03:40We have fainting goats and chickens and...
03:43Do you see these goosebumps?
03:45Yeah.
03:46I have fainting goats.
03:47Do you?
03:48Do you really?
03:48Yes.
03:49I do.
03:50We just had eight babies born.
03:51This is like a win-win.
03:53You guys need help.
03:55You were a little skeptical about leaving for three days.
03:58I have farm animals so I will be there every day.
04:01I can babysit the animals.
04:03I am like really intrigued and excited and I hope that you guys are telling me that yes,
04:09I can do this.
04:11Yes.
04:12Let's do it.
04:12If I get three days off from the farm, it's go for me.
04:15Yes!
04:17Do you realize what you just got us into?
04:20No, I always get us into trouble.
04:22All right, guys.
04:24Drive a little slow because I'm going to follow you there.
04:26Sounds good.
04:27Thank you.
04:27All right.
04:27See you guys.
04:30I know Layla is the perfect designer for this project and she's going to meet us at the
04:35house.
04:35She's one of my favorite designers in the area and she's really great with tricky spaces,
04:41which this one sounds like.
04:49Hello.
04:50Thank you so much for coming at such short notice.
04:54What are we looking at?
04:55I have the most amazing couple.
04:58They have a primary suite, the bedroom, the bathroom, a tub that is on blocks.
05:02Wait, I don't even understand that statement.
05:04Me neither, but it sounds like they definitely need our help.
05:07I believe in you.
05:09In me?
05:09I believe in you.
05:11We can do this.
05:12Hi.
05:13Hey.
05:13Come on in.
05:15Layla, this is Holly.
05:16Nice to meet you.
05:17Nice to meet you.
05:18I've heard so much about this bedroom and bathroom.
05:20I am dying to see it.
05:21All right, let's go.
05:26So here it is.
05:32In all its glory.
05:34All its glory.
05:35Right.
05:36Right.
05:38I don't know if we need to point anything out to you.
05:40We need the carpet.
05:42This carpet's probably 15 years old.
05:45Oh, were you going to rip out the carpet yourself?
05:47I was going to rip it out.
05:48But you got one cut in and you're like, I've had enough?
05:50No, so I realized that it's glued down.
05:53Oh, okay.
05:53So I couldn't just rip up the pad.
05:55What was the flooring plan?
05:57Concrete.
05:57You thought the bare slab will be better than this carpet.
06:00Yes, because the carpet's horrible.
06:02Tell me about this room.
06:04Like, what are your pain points in here?
06:06What do you hate?
06:07What do you love?
06:08I'm a little bit of an aggressive sleeper.
06:10So as I sleep at night, the mattress actually slides down and all my pillows fall into a cave.
06:18One pillow, two pillow.
06:19Oh, they're down there.
06:20Three pillows.
06:21Four pillows.
06:23Come on.
06:24Oh my God.
06:25This thing that doesn't work.
06:27This is going to sound crazy, but one of our kids has fallen back there before.
06:30And we had to fish her out.
06:32We need structure.
06:33We need structure.
06:35So if somebody's in the bedroom, you can see through the mirrors straight into the toilet.
06:41I didn't even notice that.
06:43I want to see this.
06:46It's perfect, right?
06:48You have a straight shot in there.
06:50Straight shot.
06:50Oh my God.
06:51This is awful.
06:51Talk about intimacy.
06:53Guys, that is so bad.
06:55That is not romantic at all.
06:57There's no privacy.
06:58Oh yeah, none whatsoever.
07:00Speaking of no privacy, you guys got to go in the bathroom and look at the bathroom.
07:04I've been waiting for this.
07:11Yikes.
07:14So you ripped out a closet, put in freestanding cabinets as just a fix.
07:18Yes.
07:19And then left the carpet and said, someday we're going to redo this.
07:23Yes.
07:23The carpet comes with toothpaste stains.
07:25Yeah, there is stuff in this carpet you don't even want to talk about.
07:28Yeah.
07:28The tub on blocks.
07:30The original tub was like a built-in 70s style tub.
07:33Oh, with the deck.
07:34And there was a deck and there were steps going up.
07:37So I'm like, I know how to use a hammer and I watched some YouTube videos.
07:40I got this.
07:41I came in here with a sledgehammer and just broke the bejeezies out of everything.
07:47I put the blocks in there, put the tub on blocks and then hooked it up and made it functional.
07:53And this has been like this for four years.
07:55Can we talk about the tile on the shower floor?
07:57I can see the tile on the floor.
07:59Not only is it ugly, it cuts your feet.
08:01So whoever set the tile originally didn't do a level job and you got corners poking up at the ground
08:06lines.
08:06The other thing is our toilet, it rocks really good.
08:09So if you sit on it, it's not quite stable and it kind of rocks.
08:13So you got a rocking bathtub, you got a rocking toilet.
08:15And it's really short.
08:16And if you turn around though, John, there's a plant growing out of the base of the toilet to you
08:19underneath the toilet.
08:20Wait, what?
08:21Say that again?
08:22Yeah.
08:22There's what?
08:23Right there, there's a plant growing out underneath the toilet.
08:28In all my years as a designer, never have I ever.
08:31She really likes plants.
08:33I have seen mushrooms growing on a carpet.
08:35I have not seen a plant growing out of a toilet.
08:38Did I mention frogs come through the hole in the floor too?
08:41What?
08:42Oh, so that hole, it's not just going in the ground, it's going on the wall behind it?
08:47Yeah.
08:48We've actually had our kids pick up frogs in here and one time a snake.
08:53Layla.
08:54They need us.
08:56We just run for the hills.
08:58This is a lot.
08:59There might be a little time crunch.
09:01I will keep my promise to you guys, we will definitely get this done in 72 hours.
09:06But the 72 hours begins right now.
09:10I'll see you in three days.
09:14We have five kids.
09:16We have places and houses for each one of them to go to and we're taking the babies and going
09:19to my mother-in-law's.
09:24I got some ham steaks, some pork chops, whole chicken.
09:28Guarantee all the episodes and no one else is packing a neat suitcase.
09:38Holy crap.
09:41You ready for this?
09:42No, I'm sorry.
09:42You good?
09:43This is not something that I imagined would be done any time in the near future.
09:48So it's exciting.
09:50And if you guys walk around the house in my underwear, just wash them and put them back.
09:54So the homeowners are finally all packed out.
09:57They're gone.
09:58This house is ours.
10:00So something I wanted to show you that caught my eye when we walked in was this really pretty pastel
10:04floral watercolor.
10:06So this is going to kind of create this soothing retreat that they desperately need.
10:11I like the coloring of this.
10:13And so I feel like this could be a really good jump off point for our color palette in the
10:17bedroom.
10:17That's your job.
10:18I'll let you deal with the colors and I'll go do-
10:21I'm taking this with me.
10:22I'll go do what I do best and that's demo.
10:37So it is day one.
10:39We are just getting these people moved out.
10:41We have not even started demo yet.
10:44It's getting dark and we have to use every minute of the day.
10:48Dude, are you gonna pull an all-nighter tonight, huh?
10:51You gonna stay up and work with us?
10:54What do you think?
10:55There's a lot going on, huh?
11:06Hey, John.
11:07Hey, yes.
11:08Hey, this is a lot worse than I thought it could be.
11:10I mean, this is a major problem.
11:12The actual drain is above grade.
11:15So there's no way for this tub to be able to go down.
11:17We're gonna have to jackhammer all of this out and redo all of the in-floor plumbing in order to
11:22make that work.
11:23Yeah.
11:24I mean, it's a major problem.
11:26At this point, we're gonna be in trouble.
11:36You said jackhammer that out?
11:38Yeah.
11:39The best thing we can do is get this tub out of here, get these blocks out of here and
11:43just see what we're working with.
11:44But at this point, I'm a little concerned.
11:47Hmm.
11:49Hmm.
11:49Okay.
11:50Ugh!
11:54Okay.
11:55It's good.
11:58There we go.
11:59You want it here or up against the other side of the way?
12:03After you take the breath.
12:04You want me to pick it up again?
12:06I kind of like it right here.
12:07All right.
12:11Well, the tub's not blocking the view, so hopefully you can get a better look at what the hell's going
12:18on.
12:18This is a huge problem.
12:19We gotta take all this out.
12:20We can't put it back like this.
12:21So that's like jackhammering the cement and doing the drain and pouring cement back on it, waiting for the cement
12:28to dry before we can even put the tub down.
12:30Yeah.
12:30Yeah.
12:31It's gonna take some time, but we can't leave it like this.
12:34Just keep going.
12:58We have a lot to get done today, sir.
13:01I mean, it's...
13:02This is a great space.
13:03Yeah.
13:04This is an improvement.
13:04We got a lot cleared out last night.
13:06We got a blank slate now.
13:07Yes.
13:07Okay.
13:08So the first thing that we're gonna do, because the number one issue was the privacy, the toilet, the reflections
13:14bouncing off the mirrors and all of that.
13:16So number one, we're getting them a door.
13:18Because let's be honest, a man needs to make his man noises in peace.
13:21So we're adding a pocket door.
13:23It fits the space perfectly since there are already a lot of swinging doors in this room.
13:26To make that happen, we're pulling out the freestanding closet and rebuilding it properly on the bathroom side.
13:33And there'll be no mirrors on this new closet so that when you're sitting on the bed, looking in the
13:39mirror, you're not gonna see Ed sitting on the toilet.
13:43No mirror.
13:43Even with the door open, you will not have a reflection bouncing.
13:46Perfect.
13:47Problem solved.
13:48Problem solved.
13:49We're gonna refurnish the bedroom, which I'm really excited about.
13:52We're laying down LVP throughout, durable and beautiful, just like the rest of the house.
13:57That bed situation, it was a lot.
13:59So we're replacing everything.
14:01A proper bed, all new furniture, new bedding.
14:04And to give that room some real personality, we're creating a feature wall behind the bed.
14:07A peel-and-stick wood plank that mimics shiplap with a wallpaper accent above it.
14:12Soft cuddler, subtle pattern, and just enough architectural interest to make it feel intentional.
14:17The furniture will just be simple and pretty and just, again, kind of carrying in that spa feeling.
14:23It's gonna feel like an adult bedroom.
14:25In the bathroom, what feels like three separate rooms is going to become one cohesive spa.
14:30We're dropping the full wall beside the vanity down to a pony wall.
14:33That opens everything up and lets the gorgeous natural light pour through.
14:37Consistent floor tile throughout ties it all together.
14:40This room definitely feels choppy.
14:43Disjointed, yeah.
14:44And I think the pony wall will give, you know, a little separation.
14:48And the reason we're doing a pony wall and not taking the wall all the way down is because the
14:51toilet is right on the other side.
14:53Yeah.
14:53And I don't like the toilet right next to where you're brushing your teeth.
14:56So it gives you a little bit of separation, just enough.
14:59And since we're removing your existing bathroom storage, we're gonna add a customized cabinet with glass doors,
15:06a beautiful toe kick detail that mimics what's on the vanity, and it's gonna feel like a specialized piece of
15:12furniture.
15:13Let's talk about the snake and frog expressway.
15:17Holly wanted a spa, and Ed actually picked out a beautiful tub to give her that.
15:21It just needs to be installed properly.
15:23So we're keeping the tub, setting it right, and building the room around it.
15:27Soft sagey greens, lush plants, new tile in the shower.
15:31We're bringing the outside in in a really sophisticated way.
15:34Are frogs included in spas?
15:37We're gonna keep the frogs in the bathroom.
15:38If I was in here in the bathroom and a frog went jumping by a snake, I would, I'd move
15:42out.
15:43I would be like, I am done.
15:45So looking at this, I thought we were pretty ahead of the game.
15:49But there's a lot more that we have to do to keep this project going.
15:52This would normally be a two-month project.
15:54This is an eight-week project.
15:56Yeah.
15:56That we're doing in three days.
15:57Yeah, well, yeah.
15:58And you told me that this has to be done in three days.
16:00So I'm getting out of your way.
16:00Yeah, we have to get to it.
16:01Good luck to you guys.
16:02Thank you.
16:03All right.
16:03You got your gloves.
16:04You got your safety glasses.
16:06I'll help you jack him on that floor.
16:08Let's do it.
16:23Ew.
16:24Ew.
16:24Ew.
16:25It's all right.
16:26Ew.
16:26Ew.
16:27Ew.
16:27Ew.
16:27Ew.
16:28Ew.
16:28Oh, my God.
16:29That stinks.
16:31Oh.
16:32Oh, we need something to stuff inside of there.
16:36Let me go grab a towel.
16:37I'm going to take this off first.
16:39Ugh.
16:39All right.
16:41Where did John go?
16:43John, where'd you go?
16:46That is nasty.
16:47John, we're not done yet.
16:48What the heck?
16:49I need you to go down inside of here.
16:52I'm not going in there.
16:53I'm not going in there.
16:55The good news is there is, there's, it looks like the plant came around the outside somehow.
17:00So there's nothing inside the drain.
17:03It looks like maybe it was coming up from behind it.
17:05So we'll make sure we just kind of seal everything around it.
17:09The beauty of construction.
17:11The beautiful aromas.
17:14The beautiful views.
17:16It's disgusting.
17:18But somebody has to do it.
17:26At least now we know why that plant was growing so well.
17:39We were definitely a couple hours behind this morning and I was a little bit worried.
17:44But things have started to pick up and now I'm feeling a little better.
17:48So we got flooring going in.
17:50We got the pocket door getting ready to go in.
17:53Once the floor goes in, we'll get it all covered and protected.
17:56And then we can move on from there.
18:08Hey.
18:09Hi.
18:10How are you?
18:11Um, not great.
18:13John.
18:13Might as well.
18:15Hey, we got Layla on the phone.
18:17Huh?
18:17We got Layla.
18:19Hi.
18:20Morning.
18:21So I was checking in all the materials and I realized we do not have a shaker pan or the
18:28back door floor tile.
18:29All that we got was the wall tile and the trim.
18:33Stacy and I had a 12 by 12 checkerboard with two different colored tiles.
18:39Yeah.
18:40But it's not in stock.
18:41We don't have floor tile or shower pan tile?
18:45No.
18:46And when are you laying tile?
18:47Tomorrow?
18:487am tomorrow morning.
18:50Otherwise we're never going to make it.
18:51I'm ready all over town to see what I can find in stock.
18:56Okay.
18:56We trust you.
18:57We trust your judgment.
18:59Just get us some tile here.
19:00Um, I'm just going to have to spend a little bit more time here and see how I can get
19:04creative.
19:04Okay.
19:05All right.
19:05Thanks.
19:06Bye.
19:07It's always something.
19:09Always.
19:09We're revealing to the homeowners.
19:11Here's your beautiful pocket door and don't look that way.
19:17I came into the bathroom.
19:19They did not finish the tile.
19:20We got a little bit of a problem here.
19:2272 inches, right?
19:23Come over here.
19:2573 inches.
19:26We just jinxed?
19:33I have only assembled one of these pocket doors so far.
19:36And they are amazing.
19:37But it is a bit of a process to put this together.
19:40This is for you, Holly.
19:42This is for you.
19:43I pictured this to be like a wood thing, already assembled.
19:47Yeah.
19:47We just put it in.
19:48We can buy those pre-made and slam them in, but it doesn't give you that full, soft, open
19:53and close.
19:54And you're going to be really impressed with the system once we get it put together.
19:57Well, while you two are over here messing around, I'm saving the world.
20:00Hey, welcome back.
20:00Saving the world.
20:01Saving the world.
20:03What are you...
20:04Oh.
20:04Not bad.
20:05That's the trim that I found.
20:07It's not a perfect match, but...
20:09It's really close.
20:10You're getting 12 by 24 floor tile, which I know you like.
20:14Okay.
20:14Thank you.
20:15This has to go in tonight because drywall is literally pulled up and they're waiting
20:18for us.
20:19Goodbye.
20:19All right.
20:20Thank you.
20:20You're welcome.
20:37This thing.
20:38Yeah.
20:38Finally.
20:39It went together really quickly once we figured out what the process was.
20:43To have a proper door in here, this is exactly what he wanted.
20:46I think this is going to be awesome.
20:48Keep coming back.
20:49Good.
20:51Are these real marble?
20:53Yeah.
20:53Yes.
20:54It's going to be pretty.
20:55You definitely saved the world.
21:00Let's take a look at the tile pattern really quickly.
21:03We couldn't special order anything, so we had to figure this out with what was in stock.
21:07When you called earlier, I was panicking.
21:09Yeah.
21:10So here's our tile package for the bathroom.
21:12Shower pan, floor tile, wall tile.
21:15We're going to do the wall tile in a straight stack.
21:18It's what she has in the kitchen, so they'll look really great.
21:20Okay.
21:20This is the bathroom floor.
21:22So I don't want to straight stack this.
21:24Okay.
21:24I would like to split it a 50%.
21:27Okay.
21:27And we'll stagger them.
21:28All right.
21:28Then I'm going to take my tile and get out of your way.
21:30Thank you.
21:31We'll get these floors prepped out.
21:33Busy rest of the day.
21:39So Holly and Ed have chickens, goats, pigs.
21:44I promised I'd look after the animals during the renovation.
21:47So while Anthony sets up the next stage of construction, I got to keep tabs on everything outside the primary
21:54suite.
21:55They don't like me.
21:56Come here.
21:57I'm just trying to give you food.
22:01Thanks, guys.
22:05Baby goats.
22:10Come here, mama.
22:13Hey.
22:16What is it?
22:18What?
22:21Okay.
22:21Go see mom.
22:24Oh, man.
22:25I see the trucks are pulling in, so back at it.
22:35Here we go.
22:37All right.
22:38All right.
22:38What do we got, guys?
22:41We got something that looks really heavy.
22:44Yeah.
22:44This is the vanity.
22:45You guys get this one and I'll get this.
22:50Perfect.
22:59It looks really pretty with the green.
23:07You know where we removed that one wall, they had that linen cabinet for storage.
23:11We took it away.
23:12Yeah.
23:12And, you know, there's not a ton of space left in there.
23:15So we're going to take these, give it a little something else to make it stand out a little
23:20bit in the room.
23:21We don't want it to just be stock sitting in the corner.
23:23This center panel, put some really cool glass in here and then it'll just kind of elevate
23:30these a little bit more.
23:31Okay.
23:33How do you cut this?
23:34So, yeah.
23:36How do you cut this without scratching all that paint?
23:39I know.
23:39Well, since this is our finish, we're going to want to be very careful with this.
23:42I'm sure we want to do this.
23:57All right.
23:57One down.
23:58We'll get this one down.
23:59We'll go pick out some really cool glass and then we can finish up all the details.
24:03Order the glass.
24:05Get it here.
24:06Start getting the rest of this put together.
24:08Yes.
24:17So, I feel like we've got a lot done today.
24:19We've got a lot done in the bathroom, but there is still so much more.
24:23Whoa!
24:26You're fresh.
24:29What, buddy?
24:30What?
24:31I've got to get back to work.
24:35I have to.
24:36I know.
24:37I know.
24:38Yeah.
24:39Yeah.
24:40Look at that.
24:41Oh, yeah.
24:42Everything.
24:43It's wet.
24:43Everything is wet.
24:46Wow.
24:47So...
24:47Watch out behind you, too.
24:49That's wet, too.
24:50Yeah.
24:51How long is it going to take for this mud to dry?
24:53Well, we're going to run heat in here all night in order to speed up the drying process.
24:57But we have painters showing up at 8 o'clock tomorrow morning to start painting.
25:02And I don't know if this is going to be dry or not, to be honest with you.
25:05I felt really strong when we started off this morning and, like, now I'm starting to worry.
25:20Good morning.
25:26Not good.
25:30Hey, Layla.
25:31Hi.
25:32I left late.
25:33They were still working last night, but I came into the bathroom.
25:36They did not finish the tile.
25:37So we have no shower pan tile and we have no floor tile.
25:41This is the first time that I'm actually panicking because I just don't know how we're going to finish all
25:45of this.
25:46We'll get this done.
25:47We just might not get any sleep tonight.
25:49That's right.
25:49Okay.
25:49I'll see you in a little bit.
25:51So not the phone call I want in the morning.
25:54Drive in.
25:55All calm.
25:56Let's go in here and talk about this.
25:58Yeah.
25:59Okay.
25:59In a perfect world, we would have this all done.
26:02But we were here so late doing all of this taping and texturing last night.
26:06It has not dried.
26:07Then when can we set the tub and the vanity?
26:10That is not going to happen until tomorrow.
26:12I know.
26:13I know.
26:14We have 30 hours left.
26:16I mean, they're coming back no matter what.
26:18Everything hinges on the floors from here on out.
26:21We can set our special cabinet.
26:22We can get that in and tile around that.
26:25Outside of that, there is so many things that have to happen before the floors can go in.
26:30It's going to be late, late, late tonight before we even start dropping these floors.
26:34You know, we're on a working farm.
26:36Holly and Ed have five kids.
26:38They have all the animals.
26:40This is the time where we can't say, oh, we need one more day.
26:44I mean, they have to get back in this house.
26:47Well, we got 30 hours, so.
26:5030 hours.
26:51Okay.
26:52I got a furniture delivery.
26:55The furniture is coming on a 26-foot box truck.
26:57And they're going to take it off the truck, on the street, shuttle the furniture down here.
27:05Otis!
27:06Hello!
27:19Holly's here?
27:21Holly's here.
27:22Holly's here.
27:23Holly's here.
27:25Surprised seeing you here.
27:26Dropping flowers off.
27:28Hold in.
27:28Just don't go all the way up.
27:30I mean, we are on a farm.
27:31She has the animals, so she just has to check in on a few things.
27:35And she's not going to peak.
27:36She's not going to peak.
27:37I actually have five minutes, so I can, uh.
27:40You want to help?
27:40Help bring these in.
27:42Flower duty.
27:44Thanks, John.
27:45You're welcome.
27:46Oh, my God.
27:47These are so pretty.
27:48Can my friend get a picture with you though?
27:50Sure.
27:50Can you throw us out?
27:51Sure.
27:53She's, she has primed new kids on the block age.
27:56Oh, yeah.
27:57Okay.
27:59One more day.
28:00One more day.
28:01All right.
28:02We'll see you tomorrow.
28:03After you, ma'am.
28:04Thank you.
28:04Thank you.
28:05Nice to meet you.
28:06All right.
28:06Now we're getting our accent wall done.
28:08This is going to look really beautiful as a feature wall right behind the bed.
28:11These are heel and stick planks.
28:13Pull the bottom.
28:16Boom.
28:19All right.
28:20Three down.
28:21Three hundred to go.
28:30Okay, Joe.
28:31This is crazy tight.
28:34Up with it.
28:36What, the pin's not coming out or it's not going in?
28:39This is insane.
28:41It's already a thousand degrees in here.
28:43This door won't unlock.
28:44There's a little clip system that's supposed to just be able to...
28:47This door is cursed.
28:49You know that little piece that flew off and went going across the room?
28:52That was the push button that released it.
29:00Ah, there we go.
29:05You good?
29:06Good, man.
29:07Let's try it now.
29:09Oh, yeah.
29:09Look at that.
29:11You are good.
29:12Oh, my goodness.
29:14Talk about timing.
29:15Hey, it's Anthony.
29:16I appreciate you guys accommodating.
29:17No worries at all.
29:18Okay, I'll keep an eye out for him.
29:19Shower glass.
29:20Shower glass, yeah.
29:21Shower glass covered 30 minutes.
29:22Let's go, everybody.
29:23Everybody.
29:29Hey, John.
29:30Hey, yeah.
29:31Hey, we got a little bit of a problem here.
29:33So, we just figured we'd double-check before we go in there, and what do you see?
29:3872 inches, right?
29:42But, come over here, and what do you see?
29:4773 inches.
29:48We just jinxed?
29:51Is this something somebody can cut down?
29:54Yeah, I mean, we're gonna have to.
29:55I don't, we can't get a new top.
29:57Let me just go run over to the shop and see if I can find the right tools.
30:00All right, you go get something to cut that.
30:03Okay.
30:03Figure that out.
30:04I'll go make sure the glass gets put in right.
30:06Yeah.
30:06And we'll just keep moving.
30:08That's all we can do.
30:09That's all we can do at this point.
30:27Feel good about this?
30:29Oh, yeah, yeah.
30:29Yeah?
30:29You have no problem doing this?
30:30I can't believe you actually had this in your truck.
30:34Hey, Ernesto says he's gonna cut it right here.
30:36Yeah.
30:38Marble surgery begins now.
30:43Scalpel.
30:44You ready, doctor?
30:46Yes, sir.
30:51Perfect.
30:52One down, one to go.
30:55This is the only piece of marble we had.
30:57We had no other options.
30:59Thankfully, Ernesto was here.
31:01He was able to get it cut, and now we can get it installed.
31:10Just to keep things moving, can we bring that custom armoire that we did, set it, and just tile right
31:16up to it?
31:17Yeah, I think that's a great idea.
31:24We'll get this finished off so it matches the front.
31:28All right, perfect.
31:30Throwing a little glue on the back side.
31:32Wait a minute.
31:33Did you do this on the wrong side?
31:34No, stop.
31:37Why don't you finish that?
31:39I'll go grab the tile, and we can finally get this floor done.
31:42Sounds good.
31:48Getting down to it at this point.
31:51I'm exhausted.
31:52You're exhausted.
31:54I think once we get this down, we're going to be kind of in the home stretch.
31:58Yeah, the final push.
32:00It's going to be a late night.
32:00It's going to be us and the rest of the animals out here screaming all night long at each other.
32:07There it is.
32:08That peacock feels my pain right now.
32:14If we're going to get Holly and Ed back in here, we have no wiggle room for mistakes.
32:20Why is everything in this house so heavy?
32:23Oh, my gosh.
32:25I can do better than you say.
32:32Ernesto, good job last night.
32:36Appreciate it.
32:37So it is the last day of renovation here, and we've had the crew up till 3 in the morning.
32:43Everybody is running on fumes.
32:45If we're going to get Holly and Ed back in here, we have no more wiggle room for mistakes.
32:53We've got to get past this jam first.
32:56I don't know if this is going to work.
32:57We hadn't really thought about putting this door jam on.
32:59We're going to have to try to get it in at an angle and see what it does.
33:01So let's try to get my end in as close as we can.
33:06Let's see if maybe we can...
33:08Oh, you've got to be kidding me.
33:12Jon!
33:13Oh, man.
33:16Okay.
33:17We have our door trim on because we worked through the night on that.
33:21Now we have too much of an angle and we just... we can't get it in.
33:24This will not fit in.
33:26We're going to attempt to go up and over, but it's going to take all four of us to be
33:29able to do it.
33:30All right.
33:32We have to go at the same time.
33:34So you guys go first.
33:35There you go.
33:36Nice and smooth.
33:37It's going to swing all the way down.
33:40It's almost like we're meant to do this.
33:43I just hope this marble is cut to fit because we don't have time to cut it again.
33:49Man, no.
33:50There's no more time.
33:54We have five hours until the homeowners show up.
33:58Do you want to get the countertop in now?
34:00Yeah.
34:00No, we're ready.
34:02Okay.
34:03Okay.
34:04Okay.
34:05We'll put it down.
34:06You first, Anthony.
34:07Yep.
34:10Okay.
34:10We're down.
34:12Hey.
34:14Oh, man.
34:15Ernesto, my man.
34:18That was a lot easier than I thought.
34:25Wow, that thing is fancy.
34:27That is a very aggressive toilet.
34:35I'm going to stand behind the tub.
34:37Can you see it?
34:40Why is everything in this house so heavy?
34:46There it is.
34:49Uh-oh, we're stuck.
34:57Don't get your dirty shoes on the bed.
35:07So, we just have finishing touches in the bathroom.
35:19They are coming in 15 minutes, but we are done.
35:22This house has officially been crashed.
35:27Oh!
35:30I don't know what to think right now.
35:32Do you think we got a bathtub?
35:33I hope we got a ba-
35:34I hope we-
35:35I hope we have more than what we left with.
35:40It is the moment of truth.
35:45Welcome home.
35:46Thank you.
35:47Good to see you.
35:47Thank you.
35:48Good to see you.
35:50Otis needs-
35:52He has been the best for the last year.
35:54We've been buds, huh?
35:56Huh, Otis?
35:56Your daddy and mommy's home.
35:58I was excited about that.
36:00I am so glad to see you guys.
36:02That means that my job here is done.
36:04It has been the most chaotic 72 hours ever.
36:08So, before I show you guys the space, I just wanted to just figure out what the last three days
36:13were like for you guys.
36:13I've been like waking up at 2 a.m. with like not going back to sleep because I was like
36:19anticipation.
36:21When we left, we got to where we stayed and it was like, what is happening in our house?
36:25So, is there anything that maybe we did that you would totally hate?
36:30I don't want it dark. Like, I want it light and clean and airy and peaceful.
36:34This is like, this is the best part of my job. I don't want to put it off any longer.
36:38Let's head on in.
36:38Let's go.
36:40After you.
36:42So, you guys have been out of the space for three days.
36:46Should we wait a little longer or are you guys ready to go see it?
36:49No, we're ready.
36:50No, we're ready. We're ready.
36:51We're ready.
36:51Head on in.
36:54Gosh.
36:58Oh, my gosh.
36:59Oh, my gosh.
37:05Oh, my gosh.
37:16Crap.
37:18Like, not even our house.
37:20It's beautiful. It's absolutely beautiful.
37:23Wow.
37:24I love it.
37:25Oh, look, they have our flowers on the table.
37:29Oh, my gosh. It's amazing.
37:31This is crazy.
37:33Wow.
37:34It's crazy. That carpet was so nasty.
37:36This carpet's beautiful.
37:38Wow, look at the, oh, they have the shiplap behind it.
37:40Yeah, the shiplap behind it.
37:41I was thinking that was the headboard.
37:42It's surreal.
37:43Like, I recognize the room, but then I don't recognize the room.
37:47It's got pillows on it, honey.
37:48Is the bed Ed approved?
37:50Yeah, it's Ed approved.
37:51I like the pillows.
37:57The furniture's beautiful.
37:58I love it.
37:59It all matches.
38:00I've never had matching furniture, so.
38:03Yep.
38:03Now you do.
38:04This is a nice snuff.
38:06She might not let me in here.
38:07This is my cave now.
38:11Oh, you moved the whole wall?
38:13There was no wall there.
38:15Yeah.
38:16No more man noises?
38:17No.
38:18I would love for you to walk through that door and see what's on the other side.
38:22I'd love to.
38:22Ready?
38:25Oh, wow.
38:27Oh my gosh.
38:28This is crazy.
38:29Oh my gosh.
38:31Oh my gosh.
38:36It's like a spa.
38:40This is crazy.
38:42Dude, this, it looks like a whole different room.
38:44It doesn't even look like the same bathroom.
38:46I love this.
38:47It's a fancy toilet.
38:49Oh, it's a really fancy toilet.
38:51Oh my gosh.
38:52Look at the glass.
38:52Dude, there's wheels.
38:53Oh my gosh.
38:54This is stunning.
38:55No stinky wet carpet in the bathroom anymore.
38:58It's amazing.
38:59Soft closed drawers.
39:02This is incredible.
39:03The dresser, it's like, that's beautiful.
39:07You now can shut the door and you are in your own space.
39:12Can't see the toilet from the bed.
39:14We gave you a brand new storage cabinet.
39:18We wanted to just kind of elevate it a little bit.
39:20Yeah.
39:20So I cut out the panels and we put this frosted glass in there.
39:24And we gave you new shelves.
39:26We painted it all out.
39:27So now it's none of that 1990s oak.
39:30You have the storage there.
39:32You have the storage here.
39:34This was where your freestanding closets were.
39:38Well, here you go, Ed.
39:39It's there.
39:41Oh, beautiful.
39:42Oh, that's nice.
39:43Oh, it's a whole walk-in thing.
39:45Oh, wow.
39:46I know as a fellow farmer, the best thing at the end of the day
39:50to come in and sit in a hot tub and soak your bones.
39:55We reused the tub that you had.
39:57I'm glad.
39:57It was a perfectly great tub.
39:59But now you can actually use it and not be up on blocks.
40:03It's not going to tip around anymore.
40:04We jackhammered it up.
40:06We put cement in there.
40:07No more frogs in the bathroom.
40:09No more snakes.
40:10Yeah.
40:11Holly's going to love that.
40:12But the kids are going to be a little bummed.
40:14They like finding frogs in.
40:15They like them?
40:17I will say this was a first working in a bathroom where there was actually a plant growing out from
40:25underneath the toilet.
40:27I took that plant out.
40:29It is now living its best life out in your fields.
40:32Getting real sunshine.
40:33But in place of that plant, we gave you this amazing toilet.
40:38Well, I never thought a toilet could be beautiful.
40:40There's a remote for it.
40:41Is there a remote for your toilet?
40:42You know I'm going to be yelling, hey Holly, how do you work the toilet?
40:49Brand new shower.
40:51Everything.
40:52The new tile, the new shower pan.
40:55I can tell it's soft and it won't hurt my feet already when I come in.
40:58Yes, it's your shower.
41:00Look, it's got a fancy handheld thing too.
41:02We came across this painting.
41:04We really took a lot of the color inspiration from that very painting.
41:09It fits perfectly, it's beautiful.
41:10The flowers match everything, it's beautiful.
41:13It's crazy and it's kind of overwhelming seeing so much all at once.
41:20There's so many people that were involved and helped out.
41:23Everything you've done in here, you're thinking about us the whole time.
41:27You guys nailed it.
41:28You did.
41:29In three days.
41:30It's amazing.
41:31Thank you forever and ever.
41:33Yeah.
41:33Thank you.
41:42Hey, Layla.
41:43Yeah.
41:45I'm so beautiful.
41:46Thank you so much.
41:48It's amazing.
41:49If I can get rid of one carpeted bathroom at a time in America, I'm happy to do it.
41:54Our job here is done.
41:56Aw, thank you.
41:57So enjoy your space.
41:58It's beautiful.
41:59This is the most insane thing I've ever done in my entire life.
42:02I'm like going to wake up tomorrow morning and it was all a fever dream.
42:09See, my crazy stuff pays off sometimes.
42:12Sometimes.
42:15Our house and life is chaotic, so having a place that we can come and be calm and quiet,
42:21it's amazing.
42:23So if you're in a store and Jonathan Knight comes up to you, yeah, you should definitely
42:28bring him home with you.
42:33There's more crashing to come.
42:36I want to start this project today.
42:42We're putting a swimming pool in the kitchen.
42:45We got a jackhammer that just floated away in the water.
42:47Oh, the jackhammer's getting soaked.
42:49The jackhammer's gone.
42:51I know nobody wants to hear this, but I need all the cameras out of the way.
42:59No turning back.
