00:00She is from STV Radio in Scotland and covering the Tartan Army in studio.
00:04What a week, week and a half, like I don't know when you're leaving, but are you leaving when it's
00:08all done?
00:09No, we're not leaving, we're staying here.
00:11We're having so much fun.
00:14Yeah, my remit is I'm just going to stay until we go out, so I don't know.
00:18Oh, yeah.
00:18I don't know, it's just, it's kind of crazy.
00:20So we're in Boston until, I'm in Boston until Sunday.
00:23Okay, until Sunday.
00:24So most vocal stay until Saturday, I think.
00:26Okay, all right.
00:27It's going to feel like the circus left town when you guys are gone.
00:29I know, you're all going to be sad and missing.
00:31We are, we are.
00:32Without a question.
00:33Although the Norwegians are coming and they're good fun as well.
00:36Are they really?
00:37Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:37I saw my first group of Norwegians today.
00:40Like they just arrived, like I saw like a family and they had the Norwegian kits on.
00:43Yeah, no, they're good fun.
00:44They like to party too.
00:45So tonight my friends have already messaged me saying they're in some bar downtown and that there's a Norwegian-Scottish
00:51party happening.
00:52Oh, very nice.
00:53So yeah, join in, join in.
00:54The dream final, by the way, is the Netherlands versus Scotland.
00:58Oh, wow.
00:58Because we just, we would be the same level of noise.
01:02They're great fun.
01:03So Kat, this was cool.
01:04I mean, obviously the game, or the match rather, was awesome.
01:08I mean, it was great that you guys left with a win.
01:11What was it like being in the crowd during that?
01:13Like to realize that Scotland had finally won that first game.
01:16Again, there was an element of just, it didn't feel real that we were back at the World Cup.
01:21I mean, I didn't think it was a great game, if I'm honest.
01:23Yeah.
01:24I mean, it wasn't, but it wasn't pretty, but we got the result and every single one of us would
01:28have taken 1-0 and a win, you know, before the game kicked off.
01:32Yeah.
01:32And at the end, it was just like the final whistle and we just went nuts.
02:04Yeah.
02:05Magic.
02:06Oh, yeah?
02:07What are you liking the best?
02:08Like, what food are you liking the best?
02:09Everything.
02:10Fire it my way.
02:14And you filmed the cheerleaders on that high-def screen.
02:17Do we have Ricky, okay, you're talking to him right now, he's got his finger up, okay.
02:22Oh, he's going to kill me.
02:22So your partner went, is he your radio partner?
02:26He's not, no, he's just my friend.
02:27Just your friend, okay.
02:28He's just my friend.
02:28Your friend went viral.
02:31And when you say viral, how many hits did he have?
02:33Well, about 10 minutes before I came on air, we're at 5.2 million, which is more than the entire
02:38population of Scotland.
02:42And so, like, in the last couple of days, I've got some really good exclusive interviews.
02:46I met Billy Gilmore, one of our best players, who, unfortunately, get injured the day before we were meant to
02:51fly out.
02:51Oh, man.
02:52And I met him and his family, so I got a great exclusive with him.
02:55I got an exclusive with Andy Robertson, our captain's mom and dad, which was just a lovely little bit of
03:00radio.
03:01No.
03:02My mate looking at boobs on the telly.
03:05And it goes right the way around the world.
03:08We have Ricky on the phone, by the way.
03:10Honestly, he's going to kill me.
03:12Let's welcome him on.
03:13And Ricky, thanks for joining us, Mr. Viral Video Sensation.
03:18No problem.
03:19It's crazy.
03:20Absolutely crazy.
03:21We just arrived in New York just now.
03:24So I'm walking through New York at the moment and getting some funny looks.
03:28I don't know if it's gone that viral, but people recognize me or not.
03:33My phone has been going crazy all day.
03:36All right, so, Kat, can you describe this video that Ricky went viral for?
03:41Okay, so I was chatting to him.
03:43I was trying to talk to Ricky, who's my mate, and he was standing to my right-hand side, and
03:47he wasn't paying any attention.
03:49You know that way?
03:50Nothing.
03:50Nothing was going through him.
03:52And I was like, what's he looking at?
03:53And I turned around to the big screen to see what he was looking at, and he was looking at
03:57the cheerleaders, which we don't have in Scotland.
04:00And they were doing a very interesting time.
04:03That's a dirty laugh, my boy.
04:06He was just mesmerized.
04:08And then I came, I just turned my camera back to him, and his mouth was open.
04:13And there was no awareness that anything else was happening apart from these girls on the big screen.
04:19So, Ricky, explain yourself, my friend.
04:24I was just purely admiring the choreography of the dancers.
04:29Absolutely nothing to do with the way they looked at all.
04:32Just absolutely looking at the choreography.
04:35The choreography.
04:37So there's nothing like that in Scotland.
04:39That's an American thing.
04:41No.
04:41The cheerleaders.
04:42No, we don't have cheerleaders.
04:43It's too cold to be out of your pants and a brad, jumping about.
04:48We need fur coats and big winter boots.
04:50They wear that in December for playoff games, too, in January.
04:53Ricky, I'm so curious because the day after, it was sitting at about 100,000, and that's when I went,
05:00I need to tell him I've put this up.
05:02Because he didn't know I'd put it on Twitter anyway.
05:04How is your lovely wife, Andrea?
05:06Oh, boy.
05:07Is she okay with this?
05:08She's probably on her way over here, ready to kill me.
05:14You've been a bad boy.
05:16No, no, she's a good sport.
05:18She's killing herself laughing.
05:20She actually sent me a video.
05:24I made a TV program back in the UK.
05:28James Corden.
05:30So, I was on that, and she caught it and sent it through to me in absolute stitches.
05:36So, yeah, it's just gone crazy.
05:41Sorry, Ricky.
05:42I got a text message from ABC and Fox News, and they all want to use it as well.
05:48Oh, great.
05:49No way.
05:50But this show, you guys, you're really important, aren't you?
05:54Could you make Ricky's dream come true?
05:58Could he meet a cheerleader?
05:59Or like the cheerleaders?
06:00Can we?
06:01I think we can make that happen.
06:02Yeah, this guy right here you're sitting next to, it was a New England Patriot.
06:05I'll make it happen.
06:06Right, well, well.
06:07I'll make it happen.
06:07Kat, Ricky, you, hey, you, yeah, you're here for, is he, he's in town now?
06:12He's in New York at the moment, but we'll be at the game on Friday.
06:14I'm in New York, decide.
06:15Okay, I'll make some calls.
06:17I gotta get Ricky to meet some of the cheerleaders.
06:21We gotta make that happen for you.
06:22His wife is really gonna kill me now.
06:24This is definitely going to be, this is definitely divorced material now.
06:29They can explain some of their amazing choreography to you, Ricky.
06:34Well, Ricky, congrats on going viral.
06:37He's got talent next.
06:38Yeah, for sure.
06:40And this is one of those great things, Ricky, where you go viral in one thing,
06:43and then you think the story's gone, and then a week later,
06:45it goes viral again on a completely different medium.
06:48So you're gonna be living with this for a while, Ricky.
06:50We're gonna make sure it's worth it, and you're gonna meet an actual cheerleader.
06:54It's crazy.
06:56Honestly, I've had pictures sent through that have been AI'd of me in a cheerleader's outfit.
07:02It's horrendous.
07:04Awesome, Ricky.
07:05My eyes will be burning.
07:07Well, I'm glad you're having a great time while you were here in Boston.
07:10And, you know, as I said, we were telling Kat,
07:12this has been just the best having you guys here.
07:15It's made the city like a hell of a lot more fun, to be quite honest.
07:19Excellent.
07:20Listen, the people at Boston have been amazing.
07:23We love them as much as they love us.
07:25It's just been one great party.
07:27And we look forward to doing it all again on Friday.
07:30That's right.
07:30You do it all again on Friday.
07:32Thanks, Ricky.
07:32We'll talk to you soon.
07:33All right, Ricky.
07:33See you, man.
07:34We're gonna make dreams happen.
07:35And Ricky, I'm sorry.
07:41Oh, man.
07:42Well, so what do you got planned for the...
07:44You got a lot...
07:44I mean, this is a...
07:45You got several days.
07:47I don't know.
07:47Can you hit it this hard?
07:48No, I need to go and see, like, some culture or something.
07:52Did you make it to Fenway last night?
07:54Yes.
07:55Oh, yeah.
07:55What did you think of the game?
07:56Oh, yeah.
07:58What did you think of the...
08:00Just the Fenway Park?
08:01I loved it.
08:02I loved it.
08:02Do you know, here's the thing.
08:04I met one of your colleagues in a hat on that said,
08:07Baseball's Not Boring.
08:08Yeah.
08:09Oh, Rob Bradford.
08:10Yeah, yeah, yeah.
08:10I didn't find any of it boring.
08:12I loved it.
08:14And then, obviously, the fact there was 5,000 of us there just having a party.
08:18It sounded like you were the entire park.
08:20The funniest part.
08:21See, at the end, I went to a bar across from it and I asked,
08:24there was seven of us sitting around this table.
08:26And I said to him, how did you enjoy that?
08:27Oh, it was brilliant.
08:28It was great.
08:28It was this.
08:29It was that.
08:29And I went, what was the score?
08:32Nobody knew.
08:33Not one person knew what the score was.
08:35Yeah, yeah.
08:35It seemed like a pep rally.
08:37Like the Scottish soccer team pep rally.
08:39That was it.
08:40But you sang Sweet Caroline and that's an English song, no?
08:42Well, so here's the thing.
08:44That song would probably normally be booed by the Tartan Army anywhere else.
08:48But people had given knowledge in advance.
08:51Folk from Boston were on Tartan Army websites and saying,
08:53We do this at the end.
08:55Is it the eighth?
08:56Eighth inning, yeah.
08:57And we do this.
08:58And the Tartan Army put messages going, this is their thing.
09:01Why would they boo it?
09:02Just because it's in England.
09:04Some of them did not.
09:06It's like a song that the English fans sing.
09:09It's like a good hearted boo.
09:11Oh, yeah.
09:12Because they were like a boo.
09:15Sometimes we boo it too.
09:17It's like when the Red Sox are losing, a lot of times,
09:19they're just like, don't do Sweet Caroline, please.
09:21Don't do Sweet Caroline.
09:22Well, they basically, they sang it.
09:24We sang it beautifully.
09:25Oh, yes.
09:26And the No Scotland, No Party, how long has that been?
09:28Is that a long running thing?
09:30Oh, yeah.
09:30It just goes on and on and on and on.
09:32I mean, I don't know if you've seen some of the videos from inside Fenway Park at the end.
09:35They sang the John McGinn song.
09:37Do you know what the John McGinn song is?
09:38I don't know which one it is, but I heard a lot of songs I didn't know.
09:41So basically, it's one little song.
09:42It's about John McGinn, who's the player that scored the goal.
09:45Okay.
09:45And I don't even have a voice.
09:47It's We've Got McGinn, Super John McGinn.
09:49I just don't think you understand.
09:51He's Stevie Clark's man.
09:52That's our manager.
09:53He's better than Zidane.
09:55Zinedine Zidane.
09:56Zinedine Zidane.
09:56Pretty much one of the best players that's ever existed.
09:58We've Got Super John McGinn.
10:00So that's it.
10:01It's very simple.
10:02But we repeat it and repeat it.
10:05We've Got Super John McGinn.
10:07There it is.
10:09We've Got Super John McGinn.
10:11Who?
10:12Super John McGinn.
10:15I just don't think you understand.
10:19I mean, it's insane.
10:20Stevie Clark's man.
10:22He's better than Zidane.
10:23We've Got Super John McGinn.
10:26Oh, that's awesome.
10:29By the way, your production crew are slick.
10:33That was good.
10:33Stiz and Jackson are on it.
10:35That was brilliant.
10:35And by the way, fair play to whoever was doing the music at Fenway Park last night.
10:39Fantastic.
10:40They knew all the songs to play.
10:42And the wee man playing the piano.
10:43Oh, yeah.
10:44Which was trying his best.
10:45Yeah.
10:46It was good.
10:47Music and songs, you grow up with it in Skyline.
10:49It's just, I mean, there's famous songs that you guys all learn when you're young.
10:54Yeah, exactly.
10:55And he becomes part of your adult life.
10:57And he just keeps, everyone knows all the words to all the songs.
11:00Pretty much.
11:01But I do think because we're here and there's sunshine and we're just excited, we just can't shop.
11:07Well, Kat, if somebody is listening right now and they want to follow your adventures along,
11:12what's your social media?
11:13Like if anyone wants to watch, because I mean, you've got 5 million views on one of your videos.
11:17Yeah, so at Miss Kat Harvey, which is just, it's Kat with a C, it's short for Katrina, which is
11:22Gaelic for Catherine.
11:23Excellent.
11:24So it's like Scottish for Catherine and Harvey, H-A-R-V-E-Y.
11:26Or at We Are STV Radio.
11:29Okay.
11:30Excellent.
11:30That's the plug-in for that as well.
11:32Excellent.
11:32Make sure you get the plug-in for that.
11:34Well, Kat, I mean, as I said, it's been awesome having you in.
11:37Like this has been, it's made the city 10 times more fun.
11:41You go out and it really, and the videos last night from Fenway Park, you understand it never sounds like
11:47that.
11:48Like people are writing articles about how that was one of the best environments for a sporting event, like in
11:53American sports.
11:54Like they're saying Fenway Park last night was just a next level.
11:57It was, it was incredible.
11:59And in front of us, it was Red Sox regulars.
12:03Yeah.
12:03And they were singing No Scotland, No Party.
12:06Which I was like, yes, we've got you on board.
12:09And I met like two lovely ladies from Boston in the bathroom and they were trying to work out how
12:14they could fly over to Scotland and where it was best to go.
12:16So I was doing my bit for the tourist board while I was having a pee.
12:22I never stopped.
12:23I never stopped.
12:24You're just yelling from one stall to the next.
12:26But I do, I mean, I honestly thank you for the opportunity to come and tell you how much we
12:30have loved being here.
12:31It's, it's, there's, there's certain cities in the world, as I said before, Cologne and Germany just, we just clicked.
12:37And Boston for the Tartan Army were made for each other.
12:40That's awesome.
12:40They really, really were.
12:41Absolutely.
12:42Well, this has been great.
12:43Kat, as I said, if you want to follow her on, on her social media, at Miss Kat Harvey.
12:49Okay.
12:49Miss Kat Harvey.
12:50And maybe you'll get to see her good friend, Ricky, meet a New England Patriots cheerleader.
12:55If we can try to make that happen.
12:56We're going to make this happen.
12:57Kat, and you, I trust.
12:59I got to get your numbers so you can get, I can get in touch with Ricky.
13:02Fantastic.
13:02Awesome.
13:03Awesome.
13:03Fantastic.
13:04Thanks again for coming in.
13:05No problem.
13:05Go Scotland.
13:06We're all rooting for you.
13:07Yeah.
13:08All right.
13:08Here we go.
13:09Top of the group.
13:10You forgot to mention that.
13:11That's right.
13:11Top of the group.
13:12That's right.
13:12All right.
