00:05I want to congratulate the president last night, Cyril Ghosn won the fight against a great fighter, supposed to be
00:16unbeatable, and Cyril is from France. Did you watch the fight?
00:22Yeah. Not indirect, but I saw it this morning. That was a great fight. It was a great evening at
00:28the White House.
00:52Thank you very much for being here, and it's important that we can first have this G7, with an essential
00:58agreement with Iran, to talk of our great crises, Iran, Ukraine, our wars, their regulations,
01:08to build peace and prosperity, but also to see the means of cooperation between our economies.
01:13And that's the goal of the G7, to improve the prosperity and the cooperation elements in the different areas.
01:19And we will also celebrate the 250 years of independence, France having been alongside the United States in two days.
01:31I wanted to say, I mean, to command President Trump for his celebration yesterday and to welcome President Trump and
01:39his ministers and his team for being here in Evian for the G7.
01:44I think yesterday was signed a very important agreement, a peace deal with Iran. And it's a very important one
01:52because, first, it will fix the nuclear issue.
01:56And it's a very important matter for peace for the whole world. And it will reopen almost. It will provide
02:05peace in Lebanon. And so we are ready to take our fair share of the burden and be part of
02:10the commitment of the international community in order to support this deal.
02:15And we will discuss about that together and with colleagues later on. But it's a very important step towards peace,
02:22but as well for global economy.
02:25We will have the occasion to discuss about the war in Ukraine in order to re-engage together and negotiate
02:32a good and solid peace and sustainable peace.
02:34And President Zelensky will be with us tomorrow. And obviously, we will have the occasion to bring this G7 to
02:40speak about a series of issues from rare earths, critical minerals, trade, et cetera, where we have to build convergence
02:48among the G7 members.
02:49And it will be the occasion for us to celebrate the 250 years of independence for the U.S.
02:59And Versailles is a good place because this is where the king and his minister of foreign affairs at the
03:05time did support the U.S. during years.
03:09But as well prepared what we call the Paris Triti in 1783, which was the final point of this war.
03:18So it's a great honor and a great pleasure to have you, Mr. President, in Evian and Paris.
03:24Thank you. Thank you. So Emmanuel has been a special friend of mine. We've had a fantastic relationship. We've worked
03:34on many deals together.
03:36I'm very happy to say very signed. The deal's all signed. And the strain is already partially opened. As you
03:45know, they're doing a little hunting for a couple of mines that they've already found.
03:53But it's essentially ships are starting to go out now on Friday. It'll be completely opened. We got along very
04:00well with Iran. It's a different set of leaders.
04:04As you know, the first set is gone. The second set is gone. And we found the third set to
04:09be very smart, strong, very smart. But we ended up making a deal.
04:16I felt badly that we had to go back on the attack for two nights. And I thought a third.
04:20But we made it before that happened. But I think a lot of great things are going to happen in
04:26the Middle East right now.
04:27And very importantly, the oil is plummeting down. And the stock market is shooting up like a rocket today, like
04:37record kind of numbers.
04:39And the oil has taken its biggest plunge. And we're into the low numbers. Not quite back yet, Kevin, to
04:48the extent. But we're getting close to the numbers we were before it all started.
04:53And the main thing is that Iran will not have a nuclear weapon. They fully agreed to that with strong
04:59policing powers. And they won't have a nuclear weapon, which is what it was all about, because they probably would
05:06have used it if they had it.
05:08So we had two big moments. When they terminated the JCPOA, that was the Obama deal, the Barack Hussein Obama
05:15deal. And when I terminated that, it was very important, because it was a road to a nuclear weapon. It
05:22was a horrible deal for the United States.
05:24It was a deal where billions of dollars was given to Iran. It was a deal where 1.7 billion
05:31in cash was put on a Boeing 7, well, not a 7, 757, I guess, right? But it was put
05:40on a big, beautiful Boeing 757.
05:43They needed a Boeing 747, to be honest with you, because it was a lot of cash. 1.7 billion
05:49was taken out of the banks and given to Iran. And on top of that, tens of billions of dollars
05:55was paid.
05:56So they tried to bribe them to make a deal. That didn't work. It never works. And we've done a
06:04great job. And hopefully it's going to be a good relationship and we're going to get along.
06:10And if we don't, we go back to where we started. But I don't think that's going to be necessary.
06:15The Iran deal that we made is going to bring a lot of success to the world, because the oil
06:24was really clogged up there for a while.
06:26He would call me on occasion and say, come on, please, let's go to the oil prices. But the oil
06:31is coming way down. So I'm very honored by it. I want to thank you for your help. You've always
06:37been a help.
06:38And it's an honor to be with you. We had a very good conversation yesterday with President Zelensky and President
06:46Putin. And I see maybe we can do something there. I really do. I think they're both open to it.
06:54So now that this is finished, we're going to be focusing on that, see if we can get that one
07:00done. 25,000 people a month are dying, mostly, mostly soldiers. And that shouldn't happen.
07:06But I had two very good conversations yesterday. We'll be talking about it. And we had a really exciting, I
07:13think maybe one of the most incredible evenings in the history of the White House.
07:17So we had an evening last night with the fighters. And I was very happy. I called last night, very
07:24late last night to congratulate you, because in the heavyweight division, a French fighter won.
07:30I don't know, is that maybe more important than the World Cup? To some people, it might be. To some
07:36people, it might be. You have a good team in the world.
07:38Yeah. Very good team. But you have good fighters, too. And you're a great country. And it's an honor to
07:45be with you. Thank you very much.
07:47Hey, sir. Are you going to try to attend the signing ceremony on Friday?
07:52Well, it depends. J.D.'s coming in for it. He was originally going to do it. I'll probably be gone
07:57by then. We're having dinner in a day and a half, right? We're going to be staying quite late.
08:04So I may be involved. I may not. But J.D. was coming in for that specifically. Thank you.
08:11Mr. President, when will the text of the MOU be released?
08:15I think pretty soon, I would say. I mean, I want it to be released because it's a very powerful
08:21document. It's not like the Obama document, which was just a terrible document.
08:27This is a very powerful document. And I want it to be released. So probably pretty soon. I would say
08:34after sometime after Friday, because the straight opens completely. It's open now, but it opens completely. We'll have all the
08:42mines knocked out for the most part. We have a lot of lanes right now already.
08:47Mr. President. So I think, I think sometime, I think sometime in the very near future. Yeah.
08:54Mr. President, does this, does the deal involve any sanctions really for Iran? When would that go?
08:59No, it doesn't. No, it doesn't. Well, they have to. It's really a behavioral thing. If they do what they're
09:05supposed to do, that starts taking effect.
09:13Mr. Well, I would love them to do that. I don't think we're going to need much help because we
09:24have an agreement where it's going to be open and it's toll free.
09:27We had a little argument on that. It's toll free. So I don't think we're going to need much help.
09:33But I don't think it's a bad idea to have a ship or two up here from a few countries.
09:38You'd be a great country to do it because you never know what happens. But I think it's going to
09:42be open and I think it's going to be free sailing.
09:46We do want to see if we can straighten out the Lebanon thing because it just seems to just never
09:52end. And that's a mini version of what we were doing. But and it should not be tough.
09:59It should not be tough. So Hezbollah, we have to we have to have a little talk with them.
10:05I just wanted to respond in French to the question that was posed in French on the contribution.
10:14We are ready to have, from tomorrow,
10:17chasseurs who are on the place and who can aid in the mission of observation.
10:21And, in 48 hours, des frigates who can obviously be deployed.
10:25And, in two or three days, the port-avion with the frigates who accompany the whole group.
