00:07jailbroken Anthropic's Mythos AI model, according to Axios. The report exposed what officials called
00:13a national security threat. At least five other companies also contacted senior administration
00:18officials that evening and Friday morning. The government spent hours on Friday trying to
00:22persuade Anthropic to pull Fable 5, a public version of their more powerful Mythos model,
00:27but Anthropic refused. The government then gave Anthropic a 90-minute ultimatum to take both
00:33models down. The White House followed up with a letter hitting Fable and Mythos with sweeping
00:38export controls, and by that evening, users had lost access to Fable entirely. The White House's
00:44action against Anthropic amounts to an unofficial licensing regime for powerful AI models. Any
00:49model reaching Mythos-level capability will now need government clearance before release,
00:54and industry insiders say no company will risk defying the White House.
