00:00NVIDIA is looking to raise at least 20 billion dollars in its first corporate bond sales since 2021. Joining us
00:06now is Bloomberg Tech co-host Ed Ludlow.
00:08And maybe this was inevitable as these giants look to raise capital. Bond markets are wide open for them. Yeah
00:14there is a question though of why a company so flush with cash needs to do this.
00:18I mean our reporting is that they'll use it for sort of general corporate purposes refinancing existing debt. It's a
00:24spanning seven tranches right.
00:25Two to 30 years on the on the maturity side. But just like if they go look at how much
00:31cash and videos got it's like a little bit of a head
00:33scratcher of why they in particular we need to do it. They have a new sort of lean on shareholder
00:38returns as you know guys know from the last
00:41earnings period. But it is in line with what's happening. You're exactly right. You know thinking alphabet Amazon and how
00:48they are looking
00:49at trying to lower the cost of capital and give themselves strategic options right. Maybe as BI writes to continuing
00:56in NVIDIA's case
00:57investing in the ecosystem of AI startups that rely on their GPUs for compute.
