00:07polls.
00:08Resort check-in before the council showdown where fear of cross-voting that has sparked this particular resort move.
00:15Congress has put its MLA's in a resort till the polling day, poaching fears that do trigger high in this
00:24political lockdown
00:25where MLA's headed to Mysuru Road Resort. Why? Because this is a safe step that has been taken.
00:32All eyes are on the crucial 7th MLC seat. Congress has taken no chances in the numbers game
00:38and is wanting to play very, very safe. Hence, resort politics that has made its way back in Karnataka.
00:45Many of those MLA's have been lodged at that Mysuru resort this until polling day
00:51because the Congress fears any sort of cross-voting and they do not want to risk it at any cost.
00:58So, they have herded their MLA's ahead of the MLC polls.
01:03Resort check-in that has happened before the council showdown where Congress has put its MLA's in the Mysuru resort.
01:09They will be lodged there until polling day because the Congress fears poaching
01:14and this has triggered this particular move.
01:16All eyes are on the crucial 7th MLC seat.
01:20Congress is taking no chances in the numbers game and hence, they have lodged all their MLA's
01:26at the resort with no contact, no one to be spoken to.
01:31Why? Because they do not want any sort of poaching to happen
01:34and in a bid to avoid that, Congress in Karnataka, ahead of the MLC polls,
01:41has resorted to putting all their MLA's in that Mysuru resort.
01:47So, they will not be allowed out until polling day, not be allowed to speak to anyone
01:52to ensure that the Congress can keep a close eye and a very keen eye on all their MLA's
01:59so no one changes allegiance.
02:03Let me take this to my colleague Sagaira, joining us on the broadcast.
02:07Saragai, do give us further details of how many MLA's have been lodged at that Mysuru resort,
02:13what the Congress's fears are and till when.
02:20If you notice that the Congress will comfortably win the 4 out of 5 seats
02:25and the competition is for the 5th seat
02:27and Congress require around 4 MLA's to cross vote.
02:31So, fearing that particular seat, they have shifted all the MLA's
02:36and they are confident probably they might get votes either from BJP or JDS
02:42cross voting in favoring the Congress candidate
02:45and they also want to ensure that they keep the flock together
02:48when they are going for the elections
02:51and that is the reason after the CLP meeting tomorrow evening,
02:54all of them will be shifted to the private resort here in Bengaluru
02:58and thereafter, they'll be brought to the Abidana Sauda for the polling day
03:03and they will ensure that all 5 candidates will win in the election.
03:08And it's still the possibilities for the Congress
03:10if they get 4 cross voting either from JDS or BJP.
03:15And JDS also saying that they will not ship the MLA's to any of the resorts.
03:19They are confident that their MLA's and MLC's will vote for their candidate.
03:24So, just we need to wait and watch on 18th of this month
03:27when the election happens and the results will be announced.
03:32Oh yes, absolutely.
03:33And do give us details because you are also flashing those pictures
03:36on the right of our screens of the MLA's who are lodged at that resort.
03:42Any feelers that the Congress is receiving in terms of
03:45how some of their MLA's may be in touch with the other parties
03:50and if there is any chance that they could slip
03:54or is it just a safety measure that they've adopted?
04:00They will be moved only tomorrow and once the CLP meeting gets over
04:05and thereafter they will be staying there for two nights
04:09and they will be brought to Bengaluru on 18th to Vidant Sauda when they cast out.
04:14And the apprehensions are especially with the fifth candidate
04:17because Congress have enough numbers for four candidates
04:21but still they have gone ahead and fielded the fifth candidate
04:24and they are confident that there might be some kind of cross voting
04:30either from BJP or Congress where they will vote in the favour
04:33of the fifth candidate of the Congress.
04:34And they want to ensure that they keep the flock together
04:37and that is the reason they will be shifting the MLA's tomorrow
04:40and they will be bringing the MLA's and MLC's tomorrow
04:44on 18th to Vidant Sauda to cast their oaths.
04:49All right, Sakai, many thanks for getting us those details.
