02:40Sagai, so tell me, this sounds like if the Karnataka government could be forced to choose between women welfare and
02:48the farmers, what do they choose, what do they pick up there?
02:54No, in fact, the government said that no way of cancelling the guarantee schemes, especially the Grihala Shmi schemes.
03:01And if you notice that this is one of those suggestions which was being put out by one of the
03:05MLCs in the council, Kamankunur.
03:08And he said that the money especially which has been deposited on people account, especially people who are desist, are
03:16still getting the funds.
03:17And all those funds should not be go to them. Instead, those funds should be utilised for the development programme.
03:23And we spoke to the MLCs and other leaders here. They said no question of withdrawing the guarantee schemes.
03:28Even the chief minister, when he was the deputy chief minister, has categorically mentioned that these are the flagship programmes
03:35of Karnataka Congress government.
03:36And there are no questions to go ahead and withdraw these programmes no matter what happens.
03:42So, they are element that they will continue with this particular programme.
03:46And these are the opinions which have been shared by the MLCs and MLAs.
03:50Sure, the irrigation projects need funding. But to choose from the Grihala Lakshmi scheme and why that comparison is also
03:57bizarre.
03:57But can you just help explain the deceased part to me?
04:00Because from my understanding, the Grihala Lakshmi scheme is for the women, if let's say they are the earning breadwinner
04:05or they are the head of the family,
04:06then they can get it irrespective of their marital status. But they continue to get it when they are deceased.
04:11What is the confusion here?
04:16There were discrepancies which were found by the Karnataka government when there was an auditing which was being done by
04:23the Karnataka government.
04:24And that's when they realised that many of them, especially people who are dead and people who are not part
04:30of Karnataka,
04:31who are not voters of the Karnataka, are also getting these kind of facilities.
04:35And thereafter, they have made a list and they were trying to remove those names and people who were also
04:43getting one from Bengaluru and one from their hometown.
04:47So there were some auditing which was being done by the Karnataka government.
04:51And there should be clarity on that, surely.
04:52And he was trying to highlight...
04:53Yes, because remember that can you really choose between two important voting factors here, women and farmers.
