00:13The 35-year-old woman was swimming about 30 meters from shore on Saturday morning when
00:18she was bitten by a shark, believed to be between 3 and 4 meters long.
00:23She suffered serious injuries to her arms and lower left leg and remains in hospital
00:28in stable condition.
00:29The incident prompted a temporary beach closure and a review of safety measures at one of
00:34Australia's most popular coastal destinations.
00:38Despite the reopening, many locals and tourists said they remain cautious about returning to
00:43the water.

01:11one, you know, it could have been anybody.
01:14But it won't stop me going back in, I mean, you know, there's a drone operating these days
01:19now, and there's, you know, there's always patrols going and, and as long as you follow
01:24the rules, as unfortunately the lady did, you know, swim between the flags, don't swim
01:29in murky water after rain, that sort of thing, you know, the odds are pretty minuscule that
01:34something like this would happen to you.
01:35I am a bit nervous, I probably would stay a bit shallower than I had done previously
01:39just until I felt more comfortable, but I would still go in.
