00:02Works on the removal of the name of U.S. President Donald Trump from the John F. Kennedy Center for
00:07the Performing Arts in Washington have been completed.
00:13Personnel labored through Friday night into the early hours of Saturday to follow a May 29 federal court order to
00:19remove the name from the building's facade, the center's website and other materials.
00:25I thought it was not only against the law, but also very small of Trump to put his name on,
00:31as he's doing to a lot of things here.
00:33And I was very happy when the judicial system was accurate and, you know, finally made a stand and said,
00:43no, the name had to come down.
00:44I'm very thrilled this is changing and I'm hoping it can. I know it will rebuild.
00:48I know that the, you know, Washingtonians are going to want to come back here and I'm looking forward to
00:54future seasons.
00:55Oh, I'm super thrilled. He had no business putting his name up here.
01:01He's a three year old. He's a three year old trying to play games with the whole world.
01:07So this is a great cause set in motion for better. It's going to take time.
01:12The court ruled that only the U.S. Congress could rename the venue, memorializing the late former President John F.
01:20Kennedy.
01:20After Democratic Representative and the center's member of the Board of Trustees, Joyce Beatty, sued to challenge the renaming.
01:28The American people are stronger, they're better, and they're bigger than that. The name will come down and justice will
01:37ruin.
01:38The United States Congress, they are the only group that can make a change to the name. This did not
01:46come before Congress. This is unlawful.
01:54Trump's name was placed on the center after its Board of Trustees voted to add it to the center, saying
02:00that the rebranding recognized Trump's work to secure federal funding for the institution, and it would attract major private donors.
02:19The question is, Mark, is from participating on the campers and government designed and such institutions.
02:19By representing the mic, the off-screen port will still take place as a bus to meet loro for the
02:20entities, and they will totally shrink the interred that they are places to secure.
02:20kill them to have to secure their resources to secure their arms.
02:20I have very carefully joined the grips with the safety of pressor groups
02:20and the work to ensure themtag moving on through his situation and that suggests that they're maybe two yr 4
02:21main members.
