00:07detected by satellite imagery as it moves into Venezuelan waters, posing risks to marine ecosystems, fishing activity, and coastal communities.
00:16In response, Trinidad and Tobago's state-owned Heritage Petroleum Company Limited said it was informed of a possible marine siting
00:25of hydrocarbon on Friday, June 11th at 8.48 a.m.
00:29In response, Heritage confirms that immediate actions were taken to investigate the allegation.
00:36Heritage said it conducted field checks throughout its operations and declared that no abnormalities were reported and a review of
00:45its online monitoring system confirmed all parameters were normal.
00:49It added that other operators along the west coast were contacted and no reports of any irregularities were received.
00:57Heritage further said that additionally, vessel surveillance was immediately dispatched across all company assets, resulting in a report of no
01:06abnormalities.
01:07The state company also said it is liaising with the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard on their surveillance, but so
01:13far no abnormalities have been reported from their survey.
01:16Heritage said that currently there is no evidence to support the presence of large amounts of hydrocarbon in the sea,
01:24but investigations continue.
