00:00Ukraine is expected to seek an additional 20 billion dollars in military funding from its
00:06allies at a meeting next week. Kyiv says the money would help maintain its current
00:11battlefield advantage over Russia and support its long-range strike campaign.
00:18According to news portal Politico, the request is set to be made at the next meeting of the
00:23Ukraine Defense Contact Group, also known as the Ramstein Format, on June 18.
00:28Officials say allies will be asked to contribute between two and six billion dollars each,
00:34either through direct aid or loans. The Ukraine Defense Ministry said partner countries have
00:40already committed 38 billion dollars in military assistance this year, with the additional funding
00:46bringing the total close to a 60 billion dollar target. The request comes as Ukraine steps up its
00:53drone and missile campaign, with Russian President Vladimir Putin acknowledging the strikes have
00:58caused damage, but insisting Russian forces continue to advance.
