00:03On 12th of June, 2025, Air India Flight 171, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner crashed moments after
00:12taking off from Sardar Vellabhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad, India.
00:24The flight was bound for London Gatwick, but just 40 seconds after liftoff,
00:29both engines lost power. The plane plunged into a densely populated suburb,
00:34climbing into the BG Medical College hostel less than two kilometers from the runway.
00:42The disaster claimed 241 lives of the 242 people on board. On the ground, the impact killed 19 more
00:49people, including medical students inside a college hostel. In seconds, India's deadliest aviation
00:55disaster in over three decades wiped out entire families.
