07:09counter here looked really good big albert takes a drop kick right to the face and jeff slides out
07:13of the ring to tag in his brother i've no idea why guys would tag in their partners during the
07:18early stages of these elimination matches you'll want to stay out of the action until the first two
07:23teams are eliminated jeff takes a double flapjack from test and albert this gets followed up with a
07:28big boot from test trish gets on the apron to stop a twist of fate attempt and this leads the
07:32latest
07:33splatting miss stratus on the floor test tries to go after lita this plan backfires matt takes advantage
07:39with a twist of fate but albert breaks the count albert then lifts lita up for a choke bomb but
07:44matt comes to the rescue this allows test to deliver a pump handle power slam on matt but jeff goes
07:49upstairs and test gets taken out with a twist of fate albert couldn't stop the hardy boy matt covers
07:55test tna are out of the match and we continue on with the fan favorites as scotty too hottie and
08:00jeff
08:00hardy go to work scott does well here for a brief moment but he moonwalks into the wrong corner and
08:06christian tags himself in again this is stupid and jerry lawler tries to make sense of it by saying you
08:11can only win when you're inside the ropes you can hopefully see why this still doesn't make sense
08:16right now in the match the hardys pull off a double suplex they remove their shirts as female fans squealing
08:22delight the mat slows down for a moment when edge applies a king of the ring chin lock but the
08:26two hit
08:27the mat after a double clothesline lita goes upstairs as matt distracts the referee we see a diving
08:32hurricane rana from the hardys new valet and the crowd absolutely love this the idea to put lita
08:38with matt and jeff was such a smart move christian takes a twist of fate and jeff goes up for
08:42the swanton
08:43edge comes to his partner's rescue and jeff's been taken out of the match this allows christian to
08:48plant matt with an unprettier and the fans boo when the hardy boys get eliminated too cool or seriously
08:54fresh here in more ways than one grandmaster sexy hasn't seen any action so far and he's moving very
09:00quick as he goes to work on edge he performs a missile dropkick before scotty comes in for some
09:05double teamwork and this double clothesline on christian gets another great reaction from the
09:09crowd even jerry lawler popped for it but he pops for anything brand christopher does in the ring
09:14doesn't matter if he's heal or babyface christian gets some revenge by stomping on scotty over and over
09:20again he then shows off his sick dance moves and this is what you look like every saturday night
09:25after a few drinks scotty gets singled out as we build towards the inevitable hot tag and after
09:30performing a clothesline out of the corner the crowd get on their feet as the grandmaster gets
09:34ready to get in the ring christopher gets the tag he takes out both edge and christian edge gets himself
09:40tied up in the ropes and this allows the grandmaster to show off more sick dance moves edge gets freed
09:45but
09:46our canadian friends have a few issues first edge gets catapulted into christian and christian also
09:52takes a headbutt to the groin from his own tag team partner but the boys shake it off and they
09:56have the
09:57opportunity to pull off a double worm they only get so far though before scotty too hotty gets in the
10:02ring and fans see the original when scott pulls off his signature move our match ends with a hip hop
10:08drop
10:08from christopher this should be all over but christian hits grandmaster with a tag team belt and this
10:14allows edge to successfully pin brian we have new tag team champions at king of the ring and i thought
10:20this match was good a nice mix of great moves and silly nonsense it looks like scotty too hotty's busting
10:26for his shit though our king of the ring semi-final matches are up next and crash always says kurt
10:36angles
10:36in big big trouble mister before crash takes on the olympico medalist though val venus and rikishi are going to
10:42have their match these two have been feuding on wwf tv lately so at least there's a bit something extra
10:47going into this one rikishi floors venus with a standing sidekick and he immediately begins favoring
10:53his arm the two go outside where venus gets thrown into the ring steps not once but twice and when
10:58the
10:58two get in the ring big quiche makes it obvious that his arm and shoulder isn't doing too well still
11:03he performs a leg drop in a corner hip attack but val smells blood and he delivers an armbar takedown
11:09from here venus targets the injured body part while also using the ring post rikishi gets back up and
11:14he tries to fight back but his punches have little effect and he goes down after a ddt venus goes
11:20up
11:20for a money shot he's very shocked when rikishi gets to his feet and venus jumps right into a belly
11:25to belly suplex before rikishi scores the one two three a clearly injured rikishi's in the king of the
11:31ring finals and trish stratus isn't happy she gets in the ring only to get slammed to the mat rikishi
11:36then lines
11:37up a bonsai drop on the fallen valet but val venus comes to the rescue and rikishi's now in a
11:43lot of
11:43trouble the big man not only gets the ring steps rammed into his shoulder but val also hits that
11:48injured arm with a steel chair it'll take a small miracle for rikishi to win this tournament but again
11:53i don't think anyone really cared all that much kurt angle versus crash was a clean match with no
11:58shenanigans going on but quite simply crash was unable to overcome the olympic gold medalist it felt
12:04like a bit of a mismatch here but that's the magic of king of the ring i guess crash lost
12:08after angle
12:09performed the olympic slam but fear not crash holly fans we will be seeing him again in just a moment
12:17next up we've got the hardcore title evening gown match between pop patterson and jerry briscoe
12:22patterson won the hardcore belt on raw and he tried to avoid briscoe during smackdown
12:26in order to do this patterson dressed up like a woman so he could hide in the ladies locker room
12:31so jerry decided to dress like a woman too so he could get his hands on his fellow stooge
12:35mr mcmahon wasn't happy with how his stooges were acting so he booked this match at king of the ring
12:40and yeah it's a contender for the wwf's worst match during the entire attitude era
12:45you know me by now i've let a lot of things slide during this series because i seem to be
12:50one of the
12:51only few people on this platform who understands the times were very different during the attitude era
12:56and there really isn't anything at all that offends me about this time period not preaching what's right
13:02or wrong and i'm not defending anything but i don't get my knickers in a twist over it either
13:06this right here doesn't offend me either but i will say it's incredibly weird it's weird that mcmahon
13:12would legitimately book this match thinking it was funny even the crowd in boston hated the bout and
13:17there's a mixture of silence booze and people chanting boring paterson using a sanitary product
13:23on brisco doesn't get a pop instead it's the sound of people groaning and when the two begin slugging
13:28it out in the middle of the ring the booze get louder and louder as paying customers continue to
13:33lose their patience thankfully crash holly runs in and this does bring a little life to the match
13:39crash uses this time to beat the stooges up while also removing their clothes a trash can shot to
13:44potterson allows crash to pin the hardcore champ and win the match so it ends with aylroy regaining
13:49his championship and what can i say really i've watched every single match of the monday night
13:54war for the second time right up until this point and i can't recall a wwf match that got as
14:00bad of
14:01a crowd reaction is this one right here we do tend to let things slide because it is the attitude
14:06era
14:07after all but even in the year 2000 wrestling fans thought this was absolute garbage i'm sure vince
14:13mcmahon thought it was hilarious but it dragged it dragged the show way way down
14:22devon says dx and tory are going to find out that thou shall not mess with the dudley boys
14:27in luke bubba's got a table with tory's name all over it the dudleys have been eager to put tory
14:32through a table for quite some time and after dx pushed the dudleys off the smackdown stage while in
14:38a dumpster mr mcmahon booked a table dumpster match between the dudleys and dx tonight at king of the
14:43ring this is a three on two match tory will wrestle alongside road dog and xpoc and for dx to
14:49win they
14:49have to put both dudleys in a dumpster and also close the dumpster lid for the dudleys to win they
14:55have to put all three members of dx through tables jim ross calls tory a jezebel jerry lawler says he
15:01doesn't know what a jezebel is there is a biblical explanation for the name jezebel of course but our
15:06main man jr uses it for an all-encompassing term for women who act like arseholes you don't need to
15:11know anymore bubba and road dog start us off and bubba misses a corner splash in spectacular fashion
15:17this prompts road dog to ask his partner if he'd ever consider performing an act that involves the use
15:22of his mouth around the roadies private region and devon politely declines while thanking him for the
15:27kind offer bubba performs a top rope clothesline before tagging in his partner the dudley boy performs
15:32a jumping back elbow before getting brought to dx's corner xpoc tags in and after putting his
15:37opponent on the mat devon wonders if xpoc would like to perform an act that involves the use of his
15:42right okay road dog attacks from the apron spinning back kick from xpoc which is legitimately one of my
15:48favorite moves in the wwf right now it always looked good tori comes into the match very briefly
15:53and she asks devon if he'd like to perform an act that involves using his mouth and devon's like yes
15:58say no more yes yes i would please unfortunately tori tags out so devon gets all mad the dx boys
16:06take
16:06a double clothesline before bubba comes back in big bubba's all fired up as he performs a bubba bomb on
16:11the road dog xpoc falls victim to a sidewalk slam and we then see the dudley's diving headbutt not once
16:17not twice but by god thrice that's the most action devon's ever seen and he makes the most
16:23of it by keeping his head down there for way too long absolutely wild as our match spills to the
16:29rampway i'm starting to wonder why there's even tags in this match surely this is all going to break
16:34down into a big brawl but it doesn't matter because our match is now over or at least it should
16:39be all
16:39over seeing as the dudley's got put in a dumpster our match officials too busy making sure the tories
16:45shane mcmahon hasn't been permanently damaged by that headbutt and the dudley's managed to escape the
16:50dumpster when dx tell the referee to check the giant trash container the boys realize they've
16:55just been bamboozled the dudley's appear from the other side of the ring road dog and xpoc take stereo
17:01chair shots and the dudley's start rearranging the furniture as they look to put someone through a
17:05table tables get stacked the steel steps get brought into the ring and the road dog jesse james meets
17:11his maker after getting power bombed from the ring to the outside xpoc fights valiantly as he puts
17:16dvon down with a spinning heel kick he then decides he wants to put dvon through a table so he
17:21sets him
17:21up before going to the top rope this plan backfires unfortunately and watman gets crotched and this
17:27leads to xpoc getting put through a table after a superplex from dvon it's at this point when you
17:32realize this whole match and the whole build-up to the match was just for the dudley's to put tori
17:37through a table our damsel in distress looks totally petrified as she tries to back away from bubba
17:43ray and dvon and she decides to get in the dumpster which seems to confuse the dudley's quite a bit
17:48turns out this was a great strategy because road dog and xpoc wake up they deliver chair shots to
17:53their opponents and the dudley's fall into the dumpster allowing dx to win the match after closing
17:58the lid dx outsmarted the dudley's but after a quick celebration the xpoc wonders where tori is
18:04the boys start walking back up the ramp looking a bit confused but turns out tori was still at ringside
18:09and the dudley's are able to bring her back into the ring xpoc and road dog try to save tori
18:13the crowd
18:14get treated to two three d's and that creep bubber a dudley gets all up in tori's face and uh
18:20yeah it's
18:20fucking gross my guy the table with tori's name on it gets brought into the ring and there it is
18:25the
18:26payoff for this whole rivalry tori taking a sit down power bomb through a table the action in the ring
18:31was
18:32good here the tag matches have been the highlight of this pay-per-view so far
18:40kurt angle says the king of the rings the most important tournament in the world
18:44yeah i bet he says he has to beat rikishi in the finals and win tonight because he wants a
18:48shot at
18:49triple h's wwf championship rikishi may be great if you like dancing and rubbing your butt in people's
18:54faces but the party's over for big kish it's true it's damn true rikishi's nursing his injury when getting
19:00interviewed by the coach he too says the king of the ring means a lot to him and he wouldn't
19:04be going
19:04out to the ring right now with his injury if it wasn't important but let's be real rikishi doesn't
19:10have a chance here does he angle versus rikishi the 2000 king of the ring final and our match begins
19:15with
19:16rikishi attacking on the entranceway as he tries to fight through the injury in the ring angle attempts
19:20a body slam but he can't get the big man up rikishi shows him how it's done and kurt then
19:25finds himself
19:25in trouble after a corner clothesline our olympic heroes in place for a shit face but he uses one
19:31of his three eyes when punching rikishi in his wee ooze that being intelligence not integrity angle
19:37follows up with a clothesline rikishi takes some punishment in the corner on the outside the big
19:41man takes a ring step bump and that injured arm takes all the impact back inside the ring angle
19:46keeps the pressure on with a ton of strikes and i'm surprised angle isn't focusing on the arm a bit
19:51more
19:51rikishi fights back but he hurts himself when performing a lariat still angle falls victim to
19:56a samoan drop and rikishi follows this up with a cutter unfortunately angle ends up in the corner
20:02where he takes a stink face but all this does is piss kurt off he wakes up he dashes over
20:07to perform
20:07the olympic slam but somehow rikishi kicks out of two and the match continues on rikishi sits on his
20:13opponent and he gets a very close two count and so the big man decides to go upstairs and this
20:18was a
20:19big mistake angle wakes up rikishi gets crotched on the top rope keys takes a few forearms and angle
20:25seriously impresses with a top rope belly to belly suplex that's enough for angle to win the match so
20:30there you go kurt angle is the 2000 king of the ring the final match and angles match against jericho
20:36were the highlights here but even then we've seen better from all participants in this tournament
20:40but now we'll see if this tournament victory actually does anything for kurt's career because
20:45boy he certainly deserves to get pushed up the cards he's been an absolute joy to watch since his debut
20:57it's time for our main event kane said this match is all about the big red machine becoming the wwf
21:02champion while the undertaker said he didn't come to boston to lose triple h continues to call vince
21:08mcmahon joe cool while saying mr mcmahon got backed into a corner by his meddlesome wife but vince remains
21:14defiant he's still adamant that kane rock and undertaker won't be able to coexist in this main
21:18event much shane wants everyone to focus on the task at hand but who knows what's gonna happen here
21:24both teams seem a little dysfunctional right now vince and shane come out together while the wwf champion
21:29comes out with his wife the babyface team gets separate entrances which does reinforce the fact
21:34that these guys are kind of out for themselves in this one the rock is once again the clear fan
21:40favorite tonight and the crowd are very loud as all competitors get in the ring it's a complete
21:44turnaround from that patterson and briscoe match earlier on kurt angles watching in the back he's
21:50drinking his milk while keeping an eye on who wins this match and our main event begins with shane
21:54mcmahon trying to cheap shot the big red machine the boy wonder quickly backs off when all three babyfaces go
22:00after him kane gives shane a free shot kane may be a lot of things but he's certainly not selfish
22:09shane's
22:10right hand does absolutely nothing to the devil's favorite demon and kane almost crushes shane's hand
22:15before we see a choke lift shane gets down to the mat he tries to escape the ring but the
22:19undertaker makes
22:20sure that the king of sting doesn't go anywhere kane misses a big boot we see some great athleticism from
22:26shane o'mack as he rolls over kane's back athleticism doesn't mean a whole lot when you get your head
22:30taken off with a clothesline though and kane follows up with a military press slam shane's in a bad spot
22:35so daddy vince comes in to offer some help the mcmahon's almost fall victim to a double choke slam but
22:40triple h runs in to save the day the mcmahon's go down after a double clothesline rock then tags himself
22:45in the great one lays the smackdown on shane and vince and triple h hesitates when getting in the ring
22:51rock tells hunter to just bring it hunter slowly steps up the rock but shane blinds
22:55sides rocky and this allows hunter to perform a clothesline now filled with confidence shane brings
23:00rock to the corner and he makes the mistake of smacking rock in the face before smelling what
23:05the boy wonders cooking rock sees red here and after annihilating shane with a ton of rights young
23:10mcmahon gets thrown out of the ring undertaker tags himself in there's zero teamwork from the babyfaces
23:15right now shane continues to serve as the mcmahon hemsley faction's punching bag as the dead man delivers
23:20right hands and here we go chokeslam from the american badass undertaker has it won but mr mcmahon
23:27was right these babyfaces aren't gonna play nice rock breaks the cover and hunter tags in when the
23:32great one and taker have words so really this match could go all night long the game takes a big
23:37back
23:38body drop followed by a clothesline and a big boot he telegraphs his own back body drop and undertaker
23:42plants him with a ddt kane then breaks his brother's cover so yeah you need to get on the same
23:48page here boys
23:49stop proving mr mcmahon right rock's now in the ring and hunter wants no piece of the great one
23:54he entrusts shane mcmahon to defend his belt and shane has to be forcefully brought inside the ropes
23:59rock smacks every one of his opponents before getting sent to the outside the regime gang up on
24:04rocky but luke undertaker's here to help and so's kane good work lads a brawl outside the ring follows
24:10with the brothers of destruction taking care of the mcmahon's rock meanwhile wants to put hunter through
24:15the announce table but he doesn't get very far instead hunter brings him into the ring for a pedigree
24:20and i'm convinced the undertaker was supposed to break the cover here but he just totally forgot
24:24so rock kicks out and taker still pulls hunter out of the ring after the cover rock at this point
24:30needs to tag out the brothers offer their hands but rock refuses so he gets brought to the heel corner
24:36where the mcmahon's get in some some interesting offense from vince's weird looking choke hold to
24:42shane's weird looking kicks
24:49shane delivers a jumping back elbow he then prances around the ring while laying in right hands
24:53rock tries to fight back here but triple h ensures he doesn't get too far after shane floors rocky he
24:59decides to tag in vince old vinnie mack mustn't be feeling too confident here because he tags out again
25:04after one single punch hunter with a suplex knee drop and neck breaker kane breaks up a cover before vince
25:11gets a little too confident the chairman tags in again and he mocks kane and taker before focusing
25:16on rock and when rock fights back he ends up taking a low blow hunter's back in this exchange ends
25:22with a
25:22samoan drop and when shane breaks up the cover kane and taker get fed up and they bring the mcmahon's
25:27outside for another beating the cameras cut back to the ring where hunter performs the face breaker knee
25:31smash and when we go back to the outside kane's now beating up his own brother it feels like we
25:37just
25:37missed something kind of important here rock goes for the people's elbow but kane won't allow it he
25:42gets in the ring to choke slam rocky and this makes triple h smile from ear to ear the game
25:47thinks he and
25:47kane are cool now but the moment he turns his back the big red machine goes on offense triple h
25:52gets
25:52tombstoned and the undertaker has to make sure kane doesn't win via pinfall all control's been lost
25:58here and while the story is simple enough to follow i don't think the crowd are into it all that
26:03much
26:03still the fans do want to see the mcmahon hemsley regime get destroyed and this is exactly what they
26:08get when shane mcmahon takes a super choke slam from the top rope straight through a table incredible
26:14bump here from shane mcmahon our match ends with vince trying a people's elbow and the way vince runs
26:19is ridiculously comical but rock wakes up and vince takes a rock bottom rock covers vince he gets the one
26:26two three and that means rock is the new wwf champion and vince effectively cost triple h the championship
26:33this right here is the end of the mcmahon hemsley faction i'll cover the fallout on reliving the war
26:39but triple h is super pissed off as he heads back up the ramp the undertaker says rock owes him
26:44one a
26:44possible future title shot perhaps and the show ends with rock standing over mcmahon while holding the
26:49wwf championship the tag team matches were all good on this show but i didn't think much of the king
26:59of the ring
27:00quarters and semi-finals the rikishi versus angle match was just all right though definitely nothing to get
27:06excited about i suppose the wwf didn't want another rocky versus triple h match taking place on pay-per-view
27:12and the six-man tag was a way to get taker and kane involved while also moving the belt back
27:17to rocky
27:17but it did feel like they lost the crowd a little as the match went on with all this in
27:22mind the king
27:22of the ring main event still makes wcws current main events look absolutely pathetic in comparison
27:28wwf main events feel like must-see matches whereas excitement levels for wcws final matches are at an
27:34all-time low the wwf still puts on the better pay-per-views though i think king of the ring
27:392000 is
27:40one of the lesser pay-per-views from the company in the year 2000 check out the tag team matches
27:45skip the
27:46king of the ring quarters and semis and throw briscoe versus patterson in the bin thank you so much for
