00:26To be continued...
00:30...that single, defining moment when everything changed.
00:33You mean when he turned into a vicious, sadistic killer?
00:35It's all in the eye of the beholder, Detective.
00:37I suspect this crawler, as you call him, sees himself very differently, possibly even heroically.
00:42He kills helpless young women.
00:44He seeks out targets he thinks need to be punished.
00:46The question is, punished for what?
00:49He chooses victims in relationships. I suspect that's the key.
00:52You know, you make him sound almost rational.
00:54He's just trying to do what we all try and do, Detective.
00:57Find what we've lost.
00:58Youth, happiness.
01:00Love.
01:02Look for a trigger.
01:03A suspect with a badly broken relationship in his past.
01:07Someone sometime has been very cruel to your killer.
01:11You find that, and you'll find him.
01:14You know, your insight into the criminal mind is, uh, it's very impressive, Dr. Wenzel.
01:21It's a fascinating study, Detective.
01:24Evil's so much more interesting than good.
01:26Don't you think?
01:32The police have taken the car to the impound.
01:35Darkstrike's on his way.
01:36You should meet him there and see if you can find anything the police might have missed.
01:39On my way.
01:52Yeah, I cannot find anything.
01:54Don't worry, we'll find her.
01:58Are you all right?
02:01There was nothing I could do.
02:03I understand.
02:05When I was 16, my mom was stabbed right in front of me.
02:11The guy got away.
02:12There was nothing I could do.
02:18It changes you, huh?
02:20It changes the way you look at life.
02:23It changes the way you love people.
02:25If you love people.
02:27It makes you hide from things that might hurt you.
02:30There's not a lot of people that can understand that.
02:33Do you ever wonder how it's so easy that we can call each other by codenames?
02:37Get all dressed up in black and take our aggressions out by kicking ass?
02:43It's like we become someone else.
02:55Anything from the victim's hair yet?
02:56No, not yet.
02:58We've got a lot of samples.
02:59Some distinctive pollen signatures.
03:01It's just a question of figuring out what they all mean.
03:03Don't worry, I'll figure it out soon.
03:05All right, well this waiting's driving me crazy.
03:06I'm gonna go.
03:07Stay reachable on comms.
03:08Will do.
03:17Well, I think Darkstrike's great.
03:19You know, you should really forget about Reese and go for him.
03:22Excuse me?
03:23I just meant that you two would be great crime-fighting partners.
03:29Look, you're always talking about how hard it is with Reese.
03:32But with Darkstrike, you two have so much in common.
03:34You work the same way, you think the same way.
03:38It is kind of nice.
03:39Not having to hide anything.
03:41Just being myself, knowing he isn't hiding in anything from me.
03:44Maybe that's the way it should be.
03:48Easy.
03:54Huntress, do you copy?
03:56Right here.
03:56I've got something.
03:58The amalgamation of spores and pollen suggests a specific combination of plants.
04:03There's only one place in New Gotham you can find them.
04:07There's an abandoned caretaker's house at the old Gotham Arboretum.
04:10That's where the girl is.
04:12Dinah's on her way.
04:22Aimee.
04:24Are you okay?
04:26Are you okay?
04:43Oh, come on.
04:44I know you can do better than that.
05:06You're dark flights, little bitch.
05:08We're just friends.
05:12And I'm nobody's bitch.
05:36Huntress, are you all right?
05:38Yeah, I'm fine.
05:40What happened to you?
05:41I hit me on the head.
05:42One minute I'm right behind you, the next I'm flat on my back.
05:45Oracle, we're gonna need an ambulance.
05:46On its way.
05:47He got away, but we stopped him.
05:49Yeah, this time.
05:51There won't be a next time.
05:53I wish she.
05:54She's in shock.
05:55She's not gonna be able to tell us anything tonight.
05:56We're gonna have to go to the hospital.
05:58I could find out what she knows.
06:00My way.
06:02I don't, I don't think so.
06:04Yeah, but I could get us information.
06:06We could find out where he lives, what kind of car he drives.
06:10Helena, we could stop this from happening again.
06:13Do it.
06:37I don't know if she just passed out.
06:40Get her back here now.
06:41I'm listening to the girl who the ambulance comes.
06:43You take Dinah back to the clock tower.
06:53I don't think there's any permanent damage.
06:55I think you're just overloaded by the power of the girl's trauma.
06:59Yeah, but nothing like this has ever happened to me before.
07:01Well, your powers are getting stronger.
07:03Getting more from a hit.
07:04That's why it's affecting the way it is.
07:07What'd you say?
07:09It's hard to describe exactly...
07:12I saw the crawler's face.
07:15It was so empty and hopeless.
07:20And I saw the girl.
07:23She was terrified.
07:25But she knew something.
07:28Something about the crawler.
07:30Something important.
07:31I can feel it.
07:34I just don't know what it is.
07:37I got a decent DNA sample from the blood on the window.
07:40I'll analyze it.
07:42See if he's got any weaknesses we can use against him.
07:44He's still out there.
07:45Yeah, but the girl's safe.
07:48And we'll get him.
07:50He's evil.
07:51Tell me about it.
07:52Look what he did to my favorite shirt.
07:56I'm gonna go home and get changed.
07:57Try to get some sleep.
07:58You're gonna need it.
07:59Okay.
08:02This isn't over yet.
08:08Okay, you're sure it was the same MO?
08:12Young woman, romantic relationship, abducted, and then killed?
08:17No, no, no.
08:18It's just something's weird.
08:21All right, listen.
08:21Thanks, man.
08:22Are you big on this?
08:24Yeah.
08:27Yeah.
08:38Helen.
09:00Thank God you're all right.
09:01Dark's right.
09:02What's going on?
09:03The crawler.
09:03He wants to kill you.
09:05Okay, so another bad guy wants me dead.
09:07Take a number.
09:08No, you don't understand.
09:09He knows where you live, and he's coming to get you.
09:12Okay.
09:14Okay.
09:15We'll face him together.
09:21Is DNA supposed to do that?
09:24This doesn't make any sense.
09:26I mean, it's so unstable.
09:28It can't decide what it wants to be.
09:33Reese.
09:35He's trying to contact Elena.
09:57Hello?
09:59Detective Reese?
10:01Who's this?
10:02I'm an associate of the Huntress.
10:05I got your message.
10:06Wait a minute.
10:08You're the voice, aren't you?
10:10The invisible friend, whoever it is that she's talking to all the time.
10:14Huh.
10:15That's funny.
10:16I always figured you're for a guy.
10:17You contacted us, detective.
10:19Yeah.
10:19Yeah.
10:20Yeah, right.
10:21Listen.
10:22I was talking to a friend of mine over at Central City PD.
10:25Now, he was telling me about a series of killings that matched the MO of the guy Huntress is calling
10:28the crawler.
10:29You found something new on the killings?
10:31Well, actually, I found something strange.
10:34About a year ago, a girl was killed.
10:36Now, it's matching the crawler's MO in every way, except for the fact that there were two bodies.
10:40The girl and then a white male in his 20s, but never identified.
10:44What?
10:45Well, see, the killing was never filed with the others because it didn't match its profile.
10:49Two bodies, not one.
10:50One of them male.
10:52So, who was the male victim?
10:53Well, see, that's the really bizarre part.
10:55From the evidence at the crime scene, it looked like he was the one who killed the girl.
11:02But that would mean the crawler's dead.
11:05Thank you, Detective.
11:06I'll let Huntress know.
11:09Yeah.
11:14Dinah, when you got your head off the girl, did you get any images of Darkstrike?
11:17I saw a flash of his face.
11:19I was jumbled with everything else.
11:21That's impossible.
11:22What?
11:24What's impossible?
11:25She was kidnapped by the crawler.
11:27Helena rescued her.
11:29When did she see Darkstrike's face?
11:38You know, we really should be going.
11:40Don't worry.
11:40You're safe here.
11:42Wait, wait.
11:42This is where you live?
11:43Yeah, an apartment over the bar.
11:45It's a great thing about working where you live.
11:47It's a really short commute.
11:50Can I buy you a drink?
11:52Can I buy you a drink?
12:06I'd love one.
12:12Huntress, do you copy?
12:14If you're with Darkstrike, get away from him.
12:16Do you hear me?
12:18Get away!
12:42I won't let you kill her.
12:45Do you hear me?
12:46I won't let you.
12:47You're going to have to kill me first.
12:51No.
12:52That would be too easy for you.
12:54You sick bastard.
12:55You're the one that let your fiancé die.
12:58You left her there, sleeping, helpless, alone.
13:02You don't deserve to love again.
13:04Not for a moment.
13:05And you never will.
13:06Darkstrike, listen to me.
13:08Helena, I'm so sorry.
13:12This isn't you.
13:13You can fight this.
13:15Fight him.
13:15You're stronger than he is.
13:17You can beat him.
13:30He can't help you.
13:31He's a fraud.
13:32He's nothing.
13:33No, he's not.
13:34He's a good man.
13:35I know him.
13:36You don't know anything about him?
13:38He's got blood on his hands.
13:39Hers and mine.
13:44Is she answering?
13:45He knows the earrings are her comms.
13:47He must have taken them off.
13:48Darkstrike or Crawler?
13:49They're the same person, Dinah.
13:51I know what I thought.
13:52I don't understand.
13:53Look, I can't be sure, but I think Darkstrike really did see the Crawler murderous fiancé.
13:58And then in a blind rage, he killed the Crawler himself.
14:00And he tortures himself first failure by killing again and again.
14:04And now he is Helena.
14:05Helena.
14:09Let me talk to Darkstrike.
14:11He's burying deep.
14:13You'll never find him.
14:14If you want to say something, say it to me.
14:18There is no you.
14:20You're just some parasite scamming Darkstrike's body.
14:23Then I guess it will be his hands that tear you apart.
14:27You won't let them happen.
14:29He's stronger than you.
14:30He's a pathetic, weak coward.
14:33And he's going to watch you suffer.
14:39Do you want to know why you have to die?
14:42Is this the part when you reveal your diabolical plan to kill me?
14:47Because I could care a little less if I put some effort into it.
14:50You have to die.
14:52Because you've tasted the beginnings of love.
14:56And the irony is that it's not with Darkstrike.
15:01You don't know anything about me.
15:03I can smell it on you like fear.
15:06The moaning.
15:07The passion.
15:08The desire.
15:10The need.
15:13Admit it.
15:15You don't know what you're talking about.
15:17I think you do.
15:56He didn't get you.
15:59I'm safe.
16:02He's...
16:04He's me.
16:06Isn't he?
16:08I'm the crawler.
16:12I'm so sorry.
16:14You don't have anything to be sorry for.
16:18It was him, not you.
16:21It was me.
16:25I'll never forgive myself.
16:28I'll forgive you, John.
16:31I'll forgive you.
16:39So what do they do with him now?
16:41Police have decided to lock him up in Arkham Asylum.
16:44Where they put everything they can understand.
16:47Isn't there some way we can help him?
16:49Not that I know of.
16:51They put him in complete isolation.
16:53No visitors.
16:54Sorry, Helena.
16:56You said being a crime fighter meant risking body and soul.
16:59But he gave up everything.
17:02Even himself.
17:04Our jobs are supposed to be so easy.
17:07Find the bad guys, kick the crap out of them.
17:09Feel good and go home.
17:11Just because something looks simple doesn't mean it is.
17:13Just because something looks simple doesn't mean it is.
17:14Just because of all the time.
17:14I'm sorry.
17:14I'm sorry.
17:14I'm sorry.
