00:00Apple just unveiled the biggest Siri overhaul ever at WWDC as the iPhone maker fights to close the gap with
00:06AI rivals.
00:07The new Siri, called Siri AI, gets a dedicated app, a chatbot-style interface, and a redesigned experience spanning the
00:14iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Vision Pro.
00:17Apple says it can understand personal context, what's on your screen, and more complex requests that combine multiple actions into
00:24a single command.
00:25Apple's also rolling out new visual intelligence features. Siri can analyze photos, receipts, documents, and find files across your device
00:33and answer questions about what you're looking at through the camera.
00:36Under the hood, Apple confirmed that its next-gen AI platform uses Google's Gemini models alongside Apple's own AI tech.
00:44Apple also argued its approach is focused on useful features and privacy, not AI for AI's sake.
00:50But here's the bigger picture. Apple didn't unveil a breakthrough feature no one's seen before.
00:54Instead, it finally delivered many of the AI capabilities it promised years ago, and that rivals like Google and ChatGPT
01:00already offer.
01:02The new Siri launches for developers today and enters a beta for English-speaking users later this year.
01:07But it won't reach the European Union until March, and China will also have to wait longer because of regulatory
01:12hurdles.
01:13One more thing. This was Tim Cook's 15th and final WWDC as chief executive before he becomes executive chairman on
01:19September 1st,
01:20handing the CEO role to hardware chief John Ternus.
01:23WWDC wasn't about a single revolutionary AI product.
01:26It was about rebuilding Apple's platforms around AI and proving Siri finally works.
