00:00Have you ever had a bad boss? I've had bad bosses but my current boss is the
00:05best. So good I can't even imagine quite what a bad boss would be like. You've
00:10gone a little overboard but I'll take it but not everybody feels that way and so
00:15we sent our producers Jasmine JT Green and Stacey Wong out under the streets
00:20of New York to get a pulse on what people think about CEOs these days. The
00:25reason people don't like CEOs is because people know now that the only way to be
00:30a CEO of a large company is to manipulate and essentially scam your workers with
00:38terrible pay oftentimes with terrible hours. You're employing people you're
00:42using their services and profit off of that you need to charge a higher price
00:47whoever you're selling it to. It felt a little bit exploitative. Because the
00:51economy is so bad now people are looking at the billion dollar companies and
00:55saying we gave you all this profit and now you just keep upping prices. We have
01:01seen a real reversal here in terms of how CEOs respond to cultural issues. They've
01:08stopped speaking up. The complete 180 there has made people question what do CEOs
01:14really stand for? What do these companies really stand for? I mean they've done some
01:17stuff that I think in retrospect they you know if you thought about it you'd be
01:21like that was a bad decision like kind of gleefully firing people. There was this
01:25moment in Silicon Valley where a bunch of executives were like oh it's cool like
01:30now it's cool to be tough on my workers after you know the kind of bring your
01:34whole self to work era. You also have a lot of these AI companies have spent a ton of
01:39time and companies and other industries talking about how awesome it's gonna be
01:42when the robots replace all of us. There was this vibe shift towards Trump and a
01:47lot of executives maybe because they don't talk to a lot of people outside the
01:51executive class may have lost touch to some extent with the feelings of of their
01:57workforces. I think that's true and Mark Zuckerberg is a great example of this. I
02:01do think that he sort of went from this idea of world saving to empire building
02:07right we don't hear about the world saving part anymore and I think that's not
02:11just him but that's sort of the tech sector in general.
