00:10Cervodutide showed a high rate of side effects, according to CNBC.
00:14The Danish drugmaker said Cervodutide met its key targets in a late-stage trial,
00:19but 19% of patients dropped out due to gastrointestinal events,
00:22compared to 2.9% on placebo.
00:25More than 40% of patients reported vomiting.
00:29Analysts at Barclays noted safety and tolerability remain the key issue.
00:33City analysts said the discontinuation rate sits well above what they consider commercially viable
00:38against rival drugs, terzipatide and semaglutide.
00:42Shares were last down 24%, adding to a nearly 50% decline year-to-date.
