00:01Whoever did this is an animal.
00:03Luckily he didn't lose any teeth.
00:06Anyway, we'll get these printed, give them to the police.
00:09It won't do much good.
00:11Well, they said they'd look into it, but they'd probably think it's a random assault.
00:14Yeah, which it wasn't.
00:15This was personal.
00:16I know it was.
00:17So what's Joe going to say about this?
00:19Had a good gloat, has that?
00:21I've not had a chance to tell him yet.
00:23He didn't come home last night.
00:25Well, who was he?
00:26I don't know.
00:27No?
00:27He packed a bag, said we needed some space.
00:30Wow, what's happened now?
00:32He was annoyed because Tina had accused David of stealing a bracelet.
00:36Yeah, which I hadn't.
00:38He never said any of this last night.
00:40I just thought he was out.
00:43You think he did this to me?
00:44No, I don't.
00:47It crossed my mind last night, but I'm certain it had nothing to do with Joe.
00:51Oh, no, no, no, of course it didn't.
00:53I mean, no one you're involved with would possibly try and hurt one of your kids, would there?
00:58Well, hang on.
00:59That's why he chucked something over my head, because he's a lousy coward.
01:02Joe wouldn't hurt David.
01:04He wouldn't hurt anybody.
01:06He just needed some space.
01:11Oh, my God.
01:13David, what's happened to you?
01:15Isn't it obvious?
01:16Well, who?
01:18Your dad, that's who.
01:19My dad?
01:20Yeah, jumped me last night.
01:21Chucked his coat over my head, so I couldn't even fight back.
01:23Well, if you asked something over your head, how'd you know it was him?
01:26Well, because he hates me.
01:28And he told me mum that I needed teaching a lesson.
01:30Next thing, I'm being attacked and left for dead.
01:32Well, that doesn't mean it was him.
01:33It could have been anyone.
01:34Yeah, like who?
01:35And my iPod on me Tina and my wallet.
01:37I wasn't mugged, right?
01:38I was attacked because someone wanted to kick my head in.
01:41Go on then, Miss Marple.
01:42If it wasn't your dad, who was it?
01:45What time did it happen?
01:47What time?
01:48Why do you want to...
01:49Hang on a minute.
01:51Did you tell Jason that I came to yours yesterday?
01:53No.
01:54Yeah, you did, you're lying.
01:56Jason did this to me.
01:57Well, you can't prove it if you never saw him.
01:59Thanks.
02:00Thanks for the tip-off.
02:01But David!
02:02David!
02:04What are you going to do?
02:05David!
02:13You stupid idiot.
02:15What?
02:16You couldn't get your fists to yourself, could you?
02:17What are you talking about?
02:19I'm talking about David.
02:20It looks like he's gone three rounds with me.
02:21You can't.
02:23Do you want to go to prison?
02:24David?
02:24I never touched David Platt.
02:25You went out of here last night looking for him.
02:27Yeah, but I never found him.
02:28Don't give me that.
02:29You stormed out of here because you wanted to kill him.
02:31I knew I'd gone for ages and you never answered any of my calls.
02:33Yeah, because I was angry.
02:34Yeah!
02:35I've seen David's face.
02:36I know exactly how angry you were.
02:38So?
02:39Someone gave him a beating.
02:41Good for them, wasn't me.
02:42I don't believe you.
02:46And you're not saying it's Jason because you want to get him in trouble with the police?
02:51No.
02:52Or because you want to cause trouble between him and Tina?
02:56Well, it were her that thought it was him in the first place.
02:58You should have seen her face, Gran.
03:00She just knew straight away.
03:02So what happened to it being Joe?
03:05I'm telling you, Gran, Tina knew it was Jason.
03:08I could just tell.
03:09And this is exactly the type of thing he'd do.
03:11I mean, he's hated me for years.
03:12You know that.
03:14And Joe swears blind it wasn't him and gullible Gail won't have a bad word said against him,
03:18so...
03:19A bit more respect, please.
03:21What about her respecting me?
03:23I mean, when does anybody ever take my side?
03:24Oh, hark at St. David of Weatherfield.
03:27Well, Grant, I didn't provoke anyone.
03:29I wasn't in a fight.
03:31I was walking down the street, minding me own business,
03:33and next thing I know, me brain's been rattled around me head.
03:35Yeah, I know.
03:36I know, my love.
03:39So what do you want me to do?
03:41Well, could you give us a lift down to the police station?
03:43And what are you going to say to them when you get there?
03:46That Jason Grimshaw tried to kill me.
03:49Why can't you believe me?
03:50I told you it wasn't me.
03:51So it's just coincidence, is it?
03:52You've got to look him to kick his head in,
03:54and the exact same moment someone's doing just that.
03:57So you think I'm the sort of bloke who jumps people and then lies about it?
04:00Hit something behind so they can't hit back?
04:02Is that what you think of me?
04:03Is it?
04:04I don't know.
04:05Well, you should.
04:07Otherwise, what's the point in all this, eh?
04:09What are we doing it for?
04:10A laugh.
04:11Do you know, if someone accused you of stealing something,
04:14I'd tell them to get lost.
04:16I'd say Tina wouldn't steal anything.
04:18But you just found out Davey's been beaten to a pub,
04:20and right off you think it's me.
04:22That's not fair.
04:23No, it's not.
04:25Neither is you thinking the worst of me.
04:28Why are you with me, T?
04:29Because I love you.
04:29Well, start acting like it then.
04:32Because otherwise we might as well put an end to this right now.
04:35Because I am sick of being in relationships that go nowhere.
04:40I want this to work.
04:42Us, me and you.
04:43Well, so do I.
04:44Yeah, sounds like it.
04:48Oh, haven't you got walls to strip?
04:51Why should I be working for me and Tina when there is no me and Tina?
04:56Oh, right.
04:58What's happened?
04:59She doesn't know me, ma'am.
05:00Well, of course she doesn't.
05:01You've only been seeing each other five minutes.
05:03If I was going to beat someone up, would I jump in from behind or would I throw a punch
05:07to the face?
05:08What are you talking about?
05:08Which one?
05:10Well, you wouldn't jump someone.
05:11Exactly.
05:13And that's it?
05:14You've fallen out about that?
05:16Oh.
05:17Does Tina think you've beaten someone up?
05:20Why would she want to beat me?
05:21She thinks I'm going to jump someone.
05:23Oh, because she fancies you, because you're good company.
05:27You know, it takes time getting to know someone.
05:30That's part of the fun of a relationship.
05:32Tina thinks the world of you.
05:34Get your feet off me, sir.
05:36That'll be Tina.
05:37Um, actually, no, that'll be Jesse.
05:39He's, um, he's moving in.
05:41We're making a go of it.
05:43Oh.
05:45Uh, what the hell is that?
05:47Uh, the best friend anyone could have.
05:52Hiya, Jason.
05:53Hiya.
05:54Eileen, allow me to introduce you to John.
06:01It's a parrot!
06:03Oh, pretty bolly!
06:05Pretty bo...
06:06Oh, no.
06:08Is it laying an egg?
06:09No, it's the attack stands.
06:15You sure you don't need to make a list?
06:17No, I just decided we're going up and down the aisle.
06:19You can push the trolley.
06:23What are the police doing here?
06:28Yeah?
06:28I'm looking for Jason Grimshaw.
06:30Well, I'm his mother.
06:31Is he in?
06:33Jason, it's the police.
06:34What is this about?
06:35I just need to speak to Jason.
06:37Eileen, is everything all right?
06:39Everything's fine, Gail.
06:41What?
06:41Jason Grimshaw?
06:42Yeah?
06:43I'm arresting you on suspicion of assault.
06:45What?
06:45You don't have to say anything...
06:46He didn't do this with me all night.
06:46...but it may arm your defence if you don't have a mentor in question...
06:49Oh, mate, you've got the wrong person.
06:49...of the line in court.
06:50Anything you do say may be given in evidence.
06:52Who's he supposed to have assaulted?
06:54You.
06:54You beat David up.
06:56No, I never.
06:56If you could come with me...
06:57Don't touch me, I've done nothing.
07:00This is them putting the boot in.
07:01If anybody's putting the boot in, it's your son in David's ribs.
07:05It wasn't Jason.
07:06David's only saying this because he wants to cause trouble.
07:08Yeah, like he always does.
07:09Like all of her litter.
07:11Attacking an innocent boy?
07:12Innocent?
07:13David hasn't been innocent from the day he hacked his way out of your womb.
07:16That's enough.
07:17Come on.
07:18What's going on?
07:19Jason, I'm sorry.
07:20Don't say anything.
07:21Don't tell him anything.
07:22No worry, Mum.
07:22I didn't do it.
07:37So is this like when Jason pushed you down the stairs?
07:40That was then.
07:41Oh, that was then, was it?
07:43Let me tell you something about my son, shall I?
07:45They would never push me down the stairs.
07:48And they wouldn't go around battering some chav.
07:50Even them as deserves it.
07:52Jason had David up against a wall the other day.
07:54I saw it with me own eyes.
07:56So did Joe, so did Tina.
07:57Came within an half an inch of battering him then and there.
08:00Well, I wish he had.
08:01And David is not a chav.
08:03Either one that should be getting arrested,
08:05coming round to my home, threatening me.
08:07He did what?
08:08No wonder he attacked me, if you've been spouting things like that.
08:11Have you heard the my home?
08:13Are you denying it?
08:13What did he do?
08:14Look, I went round to explain that I never took a bracelet.
08:17But did I raise my hand?
08:18You wouldn't dare, do you know why?
08:20I'd rip it off.
08:21Oh, aye, yeah.
08:22The kickboxing queen.
08:23Got a trophy.
08:24You give it up after six lessons, Tina.
08:26You told me that yourself and that was four years ago.
08:28It was three years ago and I still remember some of the moves.
08:31So I'm serious.
08:33You better watch it.
08:34Oh, and who's threatening who now?
08:35I'm threatening you and I don't care who sees.
08:37It still counts even though you're a girl, you know.
08:39One more word, David.
08:40I'm warning you.
08:41You're warning me.
08:42She's threatening me and I'm black and blue.
08:43Oh, David, get inside.
08:44You're a weedy little joker.
08:46And one day, one day you'll get across the wrong person.
08:49Okay, Tina.
08:49And when that happens, it'll be more than a black eye and a broken heart.
08:52Now, I'd listen to your daddy if I were you because I've got plenty of witnesses out here.
08:55And the way you're going on, I won't be surprised if you and the Grimshaw's were in this old thing
08:58together,
08:59you egging him on him thinking he's rocky.
09:01I want my bracelet back.
09:02I told you, old bits of cheap tat aren't my style.
09:06Your jewellery box is safe and so's your mother-in-law's.
09:08Right, that is it.
09:09I said, oh, I wish I did know who did this because I'd like to shake their hand.
09:13You vicious cow.
09:15You can say what you like about me, but I wouldn't wish any harm on your children.
09:18Well, that's where we differ, isn't it?
09:20But at least your slut of a daughter stays out of the way.
09:23Oh, everybody, come on, get inside.
09:25Now, yeah.
09:25Oh, pay off the junkies reading as a riot act.
09:27He stole your bracelet, Tina.
09:28You're going to junkie see, junkie...
09:30Oh, go to hell!
09:36If Jason gets in trouble for this, I swear to God, I'll take an axe to David.
09:41He should be the one locked up and they shouldn't throw away the key because someone might find it.
09:45They should melt it down and pour it into his eyes.
09:49Oh, shut up.
09:50Just shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up!
09:57Well, is this true?
09:59Is what true?
10:00Oh, is what true?
10:01Did you threaten her?
10:02What do you think?
10:04Did you accuse Jason out of spite?
10:06Uh, what question do you want me to answer first?
10:08It's the same question.
10:09Because what Eileen said out there is true.
10:12This isn't the first time the finger's been pointed at Jason.
10:14And who did that turn out to be?
10:16Well, I can't have a tap myself, could I?
10:18I act like this.
10:19Oh, Geoff, I wouldn't put anything past you.
10:21Did anyone see where Joe went?
10:23Have you checked in your handbag?
10:24You see, this is what I love about my family.
10:26Someone can throw a coat over my head and then beat me to a pulp and I'm the villain.
10:31And yeah, I saw where Joe went.
10:34He crawled back into the gutter.
10:37Shame, wouldn't you, a grown man?
10:39Even I've got a bigger overdraft facility than that.
10:42Well, your mother's got a screw loose when it comes to men.
10:45That's no news to us.
10:47And I know times are hard, but please, a part-time job in a hardware store.
10:52I mean, I'm not asking for a polo player.
10:56Well, you never know.
10:57My mum might still come off all right.
10:58You know, if she ever wants any cheap nails or a sink plunger or some keys cutting.
11:05Oh, do you know, sometimes I'm never sure whether to clip you round the ear or cuddle you.
11:11Well, neither, please.
11:12Hey, and you still owe Bill for them taps, by the way.
11:16Oh, hang on.
11:17Back up.
11:17Back up.
11:18What's he doing out?
11:19They never let you go.
11:20Yes, David.
11:21Stink caught evidence.
11:23They need it.
11:24Otherwise, people will be dobbing each other in left and right.
11:27There'll be no one left on the street.
11:28Come on, we're not staying there.
11:30Yeah, that's right.
11:30Go on.
11:31Get back to your derelict little flat.
11:32It might be derelict, but it's ours.
11:35Oh, and we've christened every room, by the way, to put that in your pipe and smoke it.
11:38It's in the ordinary.
11:39You see, this is why you end up with a face like the Northern Lights.
11:43You push and you go, you just don't know when to leave it.
11:46Look, this should have kept him in overnight, at least.
11:48I mean, what if he jumped me again?
11:49He won't jump you again because he didn't do it.
11:52Neither did Joe.
11:53The truth is, you probably looked the wrong way at someone.
11:57Lord knows.
11:58You've got enough enemies to pick from.
12:00Where are you going now?
12:02Home.
12:02Oh, well, you couldn't lend us a five-spot, could you, Gran?
12:04I'm skinting her armour.
12:08Oi.
12:11What are you doing here?
12:13Didn't half miss these inside.
12:15What, they didn't serve kebabs in there?
12:17I'm surprised.
12:18No, there was a kebab shop, but it was shut for refurbishment, like.
12:21Right between the deli counter and noodle bar.
12:24So, how was your summer, Dave?
12:26Yeah, pretty nifty.
12:28Yours?
12:28Oh, yeah, I had a great time, you know.
12:29Jet skiing all day, clubbing all night.
12:32Caught the sun, I see.
12:33One big holiday.
12:35Anyway, glad to see you out and let that be a lesson to you.
12:39You'll have to make sure you're on your best behaviour from now on.
12:42I'll never get it back.
12:46Get what back?
12:47The summer of nine.
12:49You didn't miss much.
12:51Federal won Wimbledon, and Joe lost his mind, but somewhat to tell the grandkids, innit?
12:56Now, you probably won't be able to look at a post bag without it bringing a tear to your
12:59eye, will you?
13:00Did they still do that?
13:01I met some pretty decent mates, actually.
13:03I don't want to know.
13:04Cheers.
13:05I'm sure I'll stay in touch with them.
13:09It was you.
13:11Beg your pardon?
13:13I said it was you.
13:15What was me?
13:18Hang on a second.
13:18Have you been beaten up or something?
13:21Do you know what?
13:22I didn't even notice, but now you mention it, you do look a bit, um...
13:26battered.
13:28When'd that happen?
13:30Last night.
13:31Ah, well, there you go, you see.
13:32I only got out this morning, so it couldn't possibly be me, could it?
13:35In fact, if I'd known, I'd have made you a Get Well Soon card.
13:39I'm pretty good at collage now.
