00:00Right now, early in the 21st century, the ocean, all of it, is in trouble.
00:08That means we're in trouble.
00:10That we, humans, one species, have so dominated both the land and the sea during our time
00:21that we are just now beginning to understand the value of nature
00:27and how important it is, that nature that has served us so well,
00:34in terms of being the source of our wealth,
00:37we've turned nature into our products, into that which we consume,
00:44but we have consumed so much, especially in the last 200 years,
00:50and more importantly, in the last 50 years,
00:53and we are continuing to take at a level that now we know it cannot continue at the same level
01:02because we need nature.
01:05We can choose the future that we want.
01:07It's not too late to save what remains of those systems.
01:11The children of today are the luckiest ones ever to arrive on Earth
01:19because of what we now know, and it's not too late.
01:23It's almost too late, but not too late to take the action.
01:27If we keep doing what we're doing, we're going to find ourselves in a very bad place,
01:33but there's still a chance for us to reverse the decline.
01:37We have to hurry.
01:39Now is the time.
01:40Now is the time.
