00:00And in rural China, local communities are combining tradition, agriculture and new digital tools amidst rural revitalization processes.
00:09In Yunnan province, our correspondent Bruno Fagi shows us this reality in the following report.
00:16In Jinping County, on the border between China and Vietnam, local markets and community cooperatives are part of China's rural
00:26revitalization strategy,
00:27which promotes economic development through cross-border trade and agricultural production.
00:35There, we speak with farmers who explain how this policy has improved the lives of the population.
00:47In 2014, I founded a cooperative that improved our lives, not only mine, but also the lives of many women
00:55in our village.
00:55Today, we grow our own produce.
00:59In 2017, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs helped us by providing 700 mushroom cultures.
01:06From there, we began experimenting with soybean cultivation and processing, and started producing and selling edible mushrooms.
01:21In parallel, the Red Node Digital Platform has contributed to the development of rural areas, promoting local products and giving
01:31visibility to the work of producers and cooperatives.
01:36Through its outreach and initiatives, many villages in the region have also boosted tourism, showcasing their cultural traditions and artistic
01:46expressions to visitors from all over the country.
02:07Rural revitalization has been central to poverty eradication in China and has become an instrument for the cultural preservation of
02:16ethnic minorities.
02:18Jibin is an example.
02:20The joint work of the state and Red Node has brought visibility to and protected the traditions of the Yao,
02:28Miao and Dai peoples.
02:32I believe it is important to preserve this knowledge.
02:35Some children are already showing interest in learning, which guarantees that this tradition will continue in the future.
02:42We cannot let this be lost.
02:43Without preservation, there is no way to learn or keep this tradition alive.
02:47That is why it is essential to pass this knowledge on to new generations.
02:53The Communist Party of China has demonstrated that with long-term planning and structural transformation, such as agrarian reform, it
03:03is possible to transform a country, lifting more than 800 million people out of poverty over decades of work, under
03:13a socialist, social and economic model.
03:16Bruno Falci, Jinping, Yunnan, China, for Telesur.
