According to Ukraine's military leadership, Russia experienced a loss of 1,440 soldiers, 4 tanks, and 50 artillery units within a span of 24 hours on June 2 — marking one of the most significant daily loss figures since the unsuccessful spring campaign. Cumulative Russian troop losses since February 2022 are nearing 1.37 million. In spite of these alarming figures, sources suggest that the Kremlin might call up as many as 100,000 more soldiers as its operations in Donetsk yield little in terms of territorial advancement. Analysts from the US and NATO are closely monitoring the situation, as Russia's replacement rate for its losses has, for the first time, dipped below its casualty rate.

00:00Germany just suffered a shocking defeat at the United Nations, and now Berlin is pointing fingers
00:05at Russia. In a major blow to Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Germany failed to win a rotating seat on
00:11the UN Security Council after losing to Austria and Portugal in a surprise vote. Germany's foreign
00:17minister called it a bitter defeat and claimed Russia secretly campaigned against Berlin because
00:23of Germany's strong support for Ukraine. He also admitted Germany's backing of Israel during the
00:28Middle East conflict may have cost crucial votes from other countries. Germany received only 104
00:34votes, while Portugal and Austria easily secured their spots with more than 130 each. The UN Security
00:42Council is one of the most powerful bodies in the world. It can approve sanctions and even authorize
00:48military action. So losing this seat is not just embarrassing. It's political damage on the global
00:54stage. Despite the setback, Merz says Germany will continue supporting the international system
01:00and remain a strong voice at the UN. But critics are already asking one question. If Germany can't
01:07win support from allies at the UN, how strong is its influence really becoming?
