According to the General Staff of Ukraine, around 1,310 Russian soldiers have been reported killed or injured in just one day, bringing Russia's overall losses since the invasion in February 2022 to an estimated 1,378,820 troops as of June 11, 2026. The latest report also noted the destruction of 6 tanks, 74 artillery pieces, 2 multiple launch rocket systems, 2 air defense units, 9 robotic systems, 2,120 tactical drones, and 326 vehicles including fuel tankers. A May 2026 analysis by British military intelligence suggests that close to 500,000 Russian troops may have died, a figure that independent Russian media outlets Meduza and Mediazona have partially verified, identifying at least 261,000 fatalities. The last official casualty report from Russia was in September 2022, when they stated only 5,937 soldiers had been killed. At the current rate of losses, Russia is experiencing casualties equivalent to an entire combat regiment every two days.
