00:00What's it like being in the hottest show on Broadway?
00:03I mean, holy s**t, is that quite good.
00:05It's really fun.
00:07We're a small, scrappy show.
00:09We're in the Helen Hayes.
00:10We're in the smallest theater on Broadway.
00:12And, you know, it's Gina's Broadway debut, which is amazing.
00:18She's just an incredible playwright and has been doing it for a long, long time.
00:22And long overdue for a Broadway debut.
00:25And just the fact that it's being received by audiences the way it is just really fills
00:29my heart for a while.
00:30And you're in one of the greatest shows of all time.
00:34I love The Pits so much.
00:35Oh, thanks.
00:36Amazing shows.
00:39Do you feel like that Robbie's mean to you?
00:43Do you agree?
00:44I do.
00:45He's not fair?
00:46I do.
00:46I think I probably do.
00:49To a certain degree, I deserve it.
00:51I definitely put my foot in it.
00:53But, yeah, no, I'm excited to continue this year's journey.
00:58Have you heard from a lot of people?
01:00Because it's very common, doctors and nurses, have you heard from a lot of doctors in, like,
01:09have they come to you at all?
01:10Yeah.
01:11No, at this point, I've heard from, you know, thousands of people have reached out and told
01:16me their story.
01:16And, you know, to all of you out there watching this, I'm sorry I can't respond to all of them,
01:22but I feel very honored to have had a whole bunch of people feel seen by this depiction
01:29of addiction because it is something that a lot of people struggle with, and a lot of
01:33people in the medical community specifically.
01:35And so, just, like, hats off to John and Scott and Noah for trusting you with this responsibility,
01:42and I'm excited to keep going with it.
01:43You know, with the little dimple and the hair, this is a very, I feel it's almost like you
01:49should be in a 50s movie opposite Annette Finchella or something.
01:52I've got a bunch of 50s movies that I really love and would love to step into that world
01:59someday.
01:59I read the New York Times story on you about how you were struggling, which I love those
02:04stories.
02:05Did you ever imagine, like, I don't know, whenever you were really struggling, you'd be on a Broadway
02:11show and in a great teenagehood?
02:14No, no.
02:16And, you know, I thought I had missed it altogether.
02:19You know, I was applying for, you know, I was applying for fundraising jobs and looking
02:25at apartments back in North Carolina.
02:26And I would have been over the moon blessed to have gotten any job at all and to get the
02:34job that ends up absolutely changing my life and sort of taking over the world and a show
02:41that has a social cause and an agenda to it beyond just entertainment, but is actually
02:47looking to raise awareness on things that affect a lot of people here in real life.
02:52It's an artist's dream.
02:54It's just, it's literally what you dream of.
02:56You, about the brain, the other world.
02:57Yeah.
02:57I think it's just, it's a fantastic painting for you.
